just out of curiosity, if blu ray is doin so well ( which i believe it is in my opinion)  how come some of blu rays major backing are makign dual format players? like HP and Samsung.  why are they giving people the means to buy the compitions discs?

 liek i said  im all on blu rays side ,  but the format war is alot closer then you think.  and universal hasnt even released the 100 plus movies they said they will get out in stores on HD DVD before the end of the year

the whole argument here is that if Universal were to make both formats, then HD DVD would have 0 HD DVD only studios meaning everything can be found on Blu-Ray and some of them can be found on HD DVD.  With that knowledge, it does make sense that HD DVD COULD suffer in the future.  

And HD DVD is out-selling blu-ray player wise at the moment because they're cheaper and people always get whats cheaper when they try something new. (cough cough Wii cough cough) 

That would be really great. Blu-Ray sales are killing HD-DVD's right? If so, I don't understand how Universal could go the HD-DVD-only route, considering they would lose customers.-Sniper99-

actually u can get a blu ray player at the same price of an HD DVD one.

i know the point is about universal movign to blu ray,  but peopel are sayign they are gonan do it  cause blu ray is destroying HD dvd.  while the reality is they arent destroying HD DVD and universals last official aunouncment last month was they are still goin ahead with releasing 100 titles on HD DVD only by the end of the year. Sicne they are gettign destroyed by blu ray like people think, is 1 reason why universal will not go nuetral.
