Why exactly does the PS3 have unstable framerates? The last thing a console like this should have trouble with is framerates. And for those using sdtv/dlp, you are exempted from this discussion because framerates do not concern older tvs.

what games are you talking about poor framerate? Also this is like saying Toyota is a horrible car company because when I put liquid tar in my gas tank from Exxon(poor videogame from developer) it doesn't run great. The problem like the parable is it is the developer's fault. Resistance, NBA07, and other games are rock solid so it is not the hardware. Quality in quality out.

its because most games on the PS3 are ported from the 360/PC. when games are optimized for the PS3 though(all first party and exclusive games, few third party games like Burnout Paradise, Sega Rev Rally), the framerate is buttery smooth.

Basically the Ps3 is a very fussy machine when compared to other consoles...everything has to be perfectly optimised for it, that's why alot of ports that start off onanother consolesand then move on to Ps3 aren't quite up to scratch!

Whereas games made on Ps3 then ported toother consoleswouldn't have theframerate issues on either console!

some developers don't think optmizing their games for ps3 is worth it because there aren't many ps3 owners yet, so they make crappy ports.Gamers shouldn't buy such ports, this way the developers will try to make a good game if they want to profit.

I haven't personally experienced many at all in the last few months since I got my PS3.

Maybe my eyes can't see it because I'm enjoying the game. ^_^

Ok guys, you have put my mind at ease, I have my PS3 for exclusives only, all I have now is HS and haven't seen nothing wrong, I was just worried with all the "poor frame rate" comments on the system wars board and with the upcoming UT3 coming out I did not want to be dissapointed.

As far as multiplat games go I'll probably get the 360 version or whichever of the 2 is released first.
