As some of you might know i was less than happy with FC2. And while i still feel the game is lacking polish and has a few glaring flaws i will say im starting to realy have fun with it. i just kept playing and playing untill i supose you could say i acquierd a taste for it lol. the missions are in fact very repetative and the FAST respawing enemys at the check points make travle a pain in the but when your in a hurry and just want to get a mission done. but the game can be alot of fun when you are in the right mind set. i supose i was just expecting a free roaming world with the varity of oblivion. as it is you fight the same guys over and over again. i think thay should have added wild life like lion's, croc's ect to deal with in the less populated areas to just add varity. also some civilian non combatants would have helped flesh out the land. but going just by whats in the game and not by what i think thay should have done its still a pretty good game. there are a few pain inthe a** bugs that i realy hope get addressed in a sooner than later update/patch like "friend" charicters getting killed before you even get to the fight/mission location and said friends getting stuck under the ground "quick sand bug" but still if your a FPS fan or even a RPG/gta fan you should at least rent this game or buy it when the price drops. I would LOVE to see futer FPS devs to use alot of the features in farcry 2 such as degrading weapons that jam/blowback, *open world*, upgardble weapons ect. I have to say after playing this dispite all its flaws i'll be looking at FPS games that are stuck in a set path style missions even resistence2 and killzone2 in a deffent light.
game has issues but look past them and its actually pretty good. very immersive. i rented it but considering buying cuz i can tell its gonna be a long f'n game. i gotta say i love some of the enemy ai. theres issues but when i snuck on two having a convo and one of them talking noticed me and kept talking for distraction but obviously heads up his bud and reaches slowly for his wea.. pow pow pow 'i got u enemy ai scum' .insert african yo mama jokes. psn. starchild789
I think people are going to think about this game depending on how they played it. i.e Someone in the mood for patience, that plans taking out the enemy by looking from a distance will think this games is great.
But people who haven't got time, and want to play a Call Of Duty "first person who shoots wins" style game. Is not going to be too impressed. Because this game just wasn't made for that.
I think the negatives have already been mentioned. I.e there should be more civilians, and more animals.
Someone mentioned before about putting crocks in rivers. Simple things like that would have helped. This game reminded me a bit like Assassins Creed. A game with a huge amount of potential but missing something obvious. Then I realised that their both made by Ubisoft. Although this is better than Assassins Creed.
I'm liking Far Cry 2 so far. But the Resistance 2 public Beta has stolen my attention, it's just so much goddamn fun. FC 2 may just be the second best FPS of 2008.
Far cry 2 is an awesome game.This game just depends on what type of taste do you have.I always wanted a shooter with VAST amount of space and realism to its limmits.And i suppose this is THE BEST THING OUT THERE for me atleast.
The reason it didnt appeal to some of you is probably because its something COMPLETELY different from what you guys expected and know of First person shooters.It has a completely open style of playing which NO OTHER shooter has.Just like oblivion.Only its bigger than oblivion and faster.Perfect for me :)

Bad company is an amazing game.I want Far cry 2.I want to see if Ubi will redeem themselfs after the craptastic multiplayer which was Vegas 2 and the sub-par story which was haze.

Yes you would love it.It plays somewhat similar.Go here and there and complete objectives.But do keep in mind that bad company was an amazing and funny sort of game.This on the other hand is very serious.

Not really the same, but have some similarities. Far Cry 2 requires more planning before you make the attack. But yea the game is awesome and I would recommend it.

Floppy i got into the public beta we should play and im picking up farcry 2 today!
animal, whitetiger is just trolling every far cry 2. I ask him to explain whats so crappy about the game but he never has a response.
I just would like to cover one area of concern. The civilians. Guys...if you remember the conversation with the dude in mikes bar the first time yo ugo there (and get your first audio tape too btw) he says all of his friends, and most EVERYONE has fled the wartorn nation, If they hadn't they are in hiding waiting for an oppurtunity to escape. THIS is why you are not seeing civilians.
Also...on the quick respawns...jeeeze if they didn't have respawns there would be no guys to get in your way while traveling...would be stupid. Also..no thanks on the crocks and ish . I like to use the jungle to travel and go around those "ignoring respawn guys". Also if you find they are spotting you when you try to do this. Buy the camo suit.

BF:BC is one of my favorite shooters and I'm loving Farcry 2 right now. Same sprint mechanic ( some people hate it but I think it's great ) and the guns all have that great kick and feel like BF:BC. I haven't been online yet but I'm told that it does have levels and weapons to buy like BF:BC. Honestly this is the game I picked this year to replace my obsession with BF:BC. Hope that helps.

In my opinion I think it's a great game. It's Ubisofts best game on the PS3 so far.

Yes easily the most realistic and fun (depends on taste) shooter of this ever.Theres more freedom than Crysis and i was shocked to see that ! And the visuals are just MIND BLOWING with so much of open (no loading times at all) map to fill !
