Hi guys, I live in europe and have a european ps3. The thing is i lost my power cable (10amp, 125 volts) (during transportation).

I have a US ps3 power cable (10 amps 125v) (dont ask me how i got it) and I was wondering if i could use that to connect my PS3 or will it get fried.

Thanks .

you cn allways try, every computerbased system has a panic abort system, so that when the CPUs temperature reaches 85 degrees celcuis, the power is automatically cut.

and yet its quite the same, but if you are desperate, steal one from a computer or computer screen somewhere... they are the same kind... of course not from a storeXD

I would not try it due to the fact that the PS3's power supply is located inside the system. With an external brick, you'd probably only risk blowing the power supply itself, but for the PS3...it'd be terrible if your $400 system went up in smoke because of voltage differences.

Personally, I would recommend playing it safe and buying a new Euro power cord. They're not that expensive, and they're certainly cheaper than replacing an entire console.

You've payed for a PS3 why are you gonna risk it for a £15 cable?
