Hey everyone, I'm interested in purchasing a USB headset that i can use with my PS3. What I'm wondering is that, will the headset work with the ps3 if the ps3 is connected through HDMI. I know that HDMI uses integrated sound and video. I can't figure out how to get in-game sounds through my current headset. I can only get the voice chat through it, while in-game sounds output through my speakers. I don't use a tv, i use my monitor, so i can't use analog headsets. I tried to change the audio settings of my PS3, but there was no option that worked for my headset ( there was only hdmi, optical, and that other one) , since it's plugged into my ps3. I'm wondering if there's a way for my headset to output both voice and in-game sounds, while my ps3 is hooked up to my monitor using HDMI. I've been wondering about this for a while and can't figure out how to do it. All help would be greatly appreciated! -Niv p.s. I know my wording is off, i couldn't really figure out how to explain my situation x.x

I'm pretty sure the only way you are going to get sound is by using the optical output of your ps3 and connecting it to a reciever, unless your monitor has some sort of audio output. There aren't any options I'm aware of that will let you transfer all audio to a bluetooth headset.

I agree with what the person above me says.

I think you are best to get all thesounds on aheadset using a receiver. You also have some great benefits for using a receiver, such as sound quality and enhancements. This is the way I am going to go.

What do you mean by receiver? Any links would be great. :o. -- And would the turtle beach p21 work in my case, since it supposedly offers both in-game chat and voice sounds integrated? All help would be appreciated! Thanks for those that replied!

Having the exactly same issue as the topic master, with my Siberia V2 (usb) headset. I would like and explanation of what a receiver is and how that would solve the problem. Thanks for replies.

A "receiver" is the main part to a sound system... you know, the thing you hook speakers up to, often times sits under or to the side of ones T.V. Often times also called a "stereo", though stereo is just short for "stereo-system" which includes the receiver and the speakers connected to it.

That is an example of a receiver.

Some headsets that connect to the AV or optical connections can support in game sound and can be use a mic as well. The only place I have seen these in a retail store is Best Buy, the price starts at about $100.00 and up depending on which one you want. Some have 5.1 surround sound built into the headset and a removeable mic.
