Awesome news. Now it gives me another excuse to go back and continue playing it. I have beaten it already and had started a new game, but an influx of new RPGs forced me to take a break from it. I'm really excited for the new content. The best game on the PS3 is now getting even better hopefully.
Excellent. This may be the only new VC content that ever gets released (chances of a sequel seem to be slim to none) so there is no way in hell I can pass this up. I don't care too much about the hard mode but the two bonus missions sound interesting. If you haven't played Valkyria yet you should do so immediately, you may never get another chance.

It's already been discontinued. You'd be lucky to pick up what one of the remaining new copies left, or get it used.
I know you can still order a brand new copy from Amazon, but that's for the States. Still a decent alternative though if the game can't be found anywhere else. I've had VC since launch, so I'm happy :)

Crap, I didn't realise it had been discontinued. Seriously people, if you haven't played it, go and do it right now. It's one of the best games on the PS3 and has been so criminally underappreciated by the gaming community. I'm begging you, don't let this one just disappear into the ether.

I just have no idea why it didn't sell well. I really don't. I've had the game since launch, and had pre-ordered well before the release date. I don't care if it's not MGS4, LBP, Resistance 2, or KZ2. A great game is a great game regardless of genre. It's really sad. I hope the people who skipped out on it have to pay well over 100 bucks on Ebay in a year or two when they can't find the game anywhere else. I'll be playing the game over again for the hundrenth time when that happens :D

Amen to that. I need to get onto replaying it myself after I finish up with RE5. I think I might actually drop dead if Sega announces a sequel despite the dismal sales.
What? This game is being discontinued because people didn't buy them!? Arghhh, why do the crappy games always prevail!? This game is in the top 3 PS3 games for me. PS3 owners complain about not having RPGs and then when one actually comes people ignore it???
And for whoever said they would prefer trophy support for this game needs to edumacate themself. The game has a trophy system in it. Technically you get medals because this is the military...and they look cooler.

What am I missing? How did I lose you? I have VC. Actually bought it a while ago but haven't played it yet because I still have GTA4, LBP and now Killzone to play. I have more games than time. I bought the game because I am an RPG fan, it looked good, and I thought it had trophy support. It doesn't, unless they've patched it recently and I haven't got that update yet.
I would much rather prefer they add trophy support to the game. I care more about that than DLC that will cost me extra if I want it.

That could be a very good thing though, a sequel can ruin a game like this.
The DLC is good news. I didn't know the exact details but it seems worth my time. I bought this game the first day it came out, took a bus downtown and had to actually request it because gamestop didn't have it out on the shelves, and still doesn't. It was nice seeing sega publishing and developing a game again. Great game but didn't sell well, sad.
I actually saw a few brand new ones on Ebay for 40-50 bucks. I'm guessing since it's discontinued now the prices are gonna start rising soon, so that's probably the best you'll do.
wow i can't imagine how you could play the game without the tank. I found the game to be kinda hard. If i had known that it was selling that badly i would have made it part of my collection a long time ago but was trying to wait for the price to come down.

There's actual in-game "trophies" you can acquire, except that they are medals and much cooler than trophies. That will keep you coming back for more. And seriously, if you don't want to play the game just because you can't display your virtual trophies to people, think about it. That should be no reason for you to skip out on a fantastic game. No one is going to care about your trophies anyway, and if you tell me you care about them, then the in-game medals should be enough consolation.
