I borrowed Snake Eater off my friend to get the story for MGS 4 and when I press New Game in the menu, it just plays a short clip of Snake killing a guy. I don't know what to do. Please help. Btw, is the order I play the games in MGS 3, MGS 1, then MGS 2?Da_lil_PimPyour pressing X press O X in mgs is the cancel button. its really quite stupid to not alert more people to this also you should play the games mgs1, mgs2 then mgs3. because you wont understand alot of the things in mgs3 because they are references.

I would never have been able to play MGS if it wasn't for you. Thank you

I had the same problem! I kept pressing X too. I was going to take it back but will give it a 2nd go tonight.

its an mgs tradition. i, and everyone i know who has played them, has gone through at least five minutes of w.t.f is going on here before figuring it out :)
p.s. i dont think you need to play the previous games in order to enjoy snake eater. i played that one first. sure i missed a lot of the more subtle things in it, or things that are foreshadowing later events, but the story holds strong on it's own and doesn't depend on the heavy continuity that sons of liberty does.

not only from a gameplay perspective are you going to be disapointed. because playing mgs1 after mgs3.would be like playing tekken 5 before you play tekken1. it would feel awful. also you have missed out on a hell of a lot, all the mystery of mgs2 was ruined for you, because you knew the anwsers. you flat out played it wrong. also for any hardcore mgs fan......snake eater isnt mgs. its just kojima's transformation in to going commercial, kinda like gensis. Please Log In to post.
