GTA vice city was the best and always will be, I enjoyed GTA4, but nowhere near as much as I did VC, i don't know I think after Vice city GTA just became boring and repetitive,
+1 i think so as well. I played that game all the time just for the fun of it and never got tired of it. I even played it after SA came out cause I liked it better. As a matter of fact, I might even play it tonight instead of GTA4 for fun!
GTA:vice city and vice city stories is my favorite games to date. And I been playing video games since the 80's. Heck I still listen to the GTA:vice city box soundtrack set.
i didnt like the old gta formula, it felt cartoonish and unrealistic. gta 4 was the best gta to me. though i do agree the soundtrack was better, i wish they made 80s music now instead of hip hop and rap...ugh.
Vice City is my favorite since I thought they did a great job getting that 80's South Florida feel. This game made me want to drive down Coconut Grove for the hell of it. San Andres does come close tho. That game had some great content and additions added to it. A Vice City II would be nice.
I felt that Vice City had the most rounded soundtrack, but I preferred Radio X in San Andreas as that was the music I was listening to as a youngster!
I think I'm in the minority in that I think GTA IV is my favourite of the series. I like Niko, unlike some, and while some people think it's been stripped down too much, I think San Andreas had almost too much to do in a way. I have all the games from GTA 3 on, and think I've spent the most time on the last one.
Yupp Vice City is the best for sure. Didn't like SA because that was when the whole GTA thing started to get repetitive. Hated the main character to, really can't stand those hip hop gangsta wannabes.

I agree, Vice City was fun and hilarious. I think the italian mafia character had a lot to do with it. Those missions where so much fun, I think my favorite was the one you had to go shoot those other gangsters in their boss' mansion from the helicopter.
I think the first GTA game you play is gonna be the best in your opinion. For me it's GTA III because the experience was totally new and I put way more hours into that game then any other GTA.

They don't make 80's music now because it's not the 80's. -_-
I liked San Andreas' soundtrack more than Vice City's, mainly because it had the most variety.
GTAIV definitely had the best story, by far. GTA went from stupid rock pushers and gangsters to people trying to make a living, rightfully earning its "M for Mature."
A mature game for a mature crowd, with a bit of tongue-in-cheek humor to keep the game from taking itself too seriously.

I agree. I thought that SA biggest flaw was the fact that there was TOO MUCH stuff you could do, a lot of pointless trash and the story and setting weren't great. Don't get me wrong, launching off cliffs in a buggy or quad is brilliant, but I still preferred the GTA3 and VC over SA. Dunno where I would rank number 4 yet.
i kinda liked the choices GTSA gave you, expecialy the part where you get to modifie the cars, although the only thing i ever used was the quadrobike(soo much fun) but other than that yah gta3 and the others rocked!
