Is Virtua Fighter 5 worth the buy, with no online, is it worth it alone with the story and single player? any advantages over other fighters?

It looks very pretty, but its still just the same VF we have all played for years. No advance in controls or gameplay. The environments are still just rotating arenas and not interactive. I dont know, im not that excited about the game, though i will still probably pick it up anyway. But i dont think i will be getting a second sixaxis ...my brother has expressed no interest in playing the game.

if you're into fighting games and you have friends that enjoy playing fighting games, then yes. its number 1 (for japan) on vgcharts for software sold in the month of january.

Personally I like Tekken and Mortal Kombat much better, I would have liked them to come out with Tekken 6 or something instead.

I actually changed my mind after finding out about the online part. As I will be playing alone. I did not follow this game so I just found out last week.

This is the king of fighting games. Tekken has the best story-line and coolest characters, but VF is the most balanced fighting game thats ever been made. It's a must buy for every gamer that likes fighting games ;)

You should read the thread that stickied on this forum. Almost all questions are answered and if you have any questions about the game, all you need to do is post there and you will get a very good answer.
Sega did release a Joy stick with 3 buttons for VF5 but they recalled them. It was having some problems. There is another joystick out there aswell can't remember the name of it. It's posted in the other thread.

Yeah, me 2. I love Namco's fighters... nobody does it better in my opinion. I tried the last VF and just found it pretty, but a bit too twitchy from a timing perspective. Tekken just feels right to me.

Although it has online, I think it'll still be solid. I had dead or alive 4 for 360 and online wasnt really anything to write home about. It really isnt that big of a deal. I missed the Virtua Fighter 4 expansion type deal they had and heard theres some quest mode. Supposedly that will be in VF5 and I am really looking forward to it. Also, I love playing as wolf because his moves are look real nice yet they're not that hard. Heres to smashing people in HD!
