Just read that the idiot director who was given the Uncharted movie is intending to "hook up," his old pal Mark Walburg with the role of Nathan Drake . . . Wait, WHAAAAAAA?

I don't think a film about the Uncharted games needs to be made. They are already more fleshed out and entertaining than a film version could give us. But I see Hollywood working(the whole, new audience thing and the extra revenue etc). If they're gonna bring one of our industry-of-choice's best characters to the mainsteam I don't want them screwing it up. Walburg(asisde from being the most overrated actor in hollywood) is about as sullen and dull an actor as they get. He does not have the chops to play such a lively, humorousand self-depricating characteras Nathan Drake. I can name only 2 films that Walburg has done in which his prescence was a benefit(Fear/Boogie Nights). I write this not to hate on Walburg asmuch as to hate on Directors who are given projects with a dedicated followingfrom another form of entertainment(books/videogames etc) who procede to prove that they have no clue what the source material is about by making terrible mis-casting decisions such as this one. Mind you, it's still in the rumor stage but, I mean, c'mon, really?

As forDeNiro and Pesci, don't even get me started . . .

Yes it is stupid, not as bad as making an Uncharted movie to begin with though.

And now the movie will be horrible. There are other actors out there the fit the role not Marky Mark.

Amen!

In regards to the original post though, I think it's a poor choice too. I like Mark Wahlberg but I just don't see it. I'd rather have Nathan Fillion as Nathan Drake (won't happen though). Granted I really shouldn't care because I'll probably just skip this movie anyway.

Oh this is not good. One of my favorite actors is being used to play yet another video game character. And he is too short to play Nathan.

I wish they would just use Nolan North. He is really talented and they modeled Drake from him, now they dont look exactly alike, but with it being the exact voice I bet that would make up for it. It has potential as a movie.... as did every other game movie... except nonetheless, I bet it will bomb. I think they should give up on game to movie in hollywood
