Free online. $50 could be money towards a brand new game.
Biggest reason I got a PS3 over the other console, and you know what? For a free online service done this well, I would very well be willing to pay an annual fee for it.
Things I like about it:
Things I don't like about it:
Ive been buying Sony stuff for a long time and theyre stuff is really good...I saw Uncharted and MGS4 were coming out and I was like, "my god i have to have this thing..." since then ive gottten a lot of games.....i dont mean to make this seem like SW but honestly i like the 360....its a good system and has quite a few good games on it....but only a couple catch my interest
Since you asked again....
-Free online. (If you have more than one account on an xbox you have to buy xbox live for each account, if you wanna play on seperate accounts online)
-Built in wi-fi (xbox charges $80 for a wireless adaptor)
-Blu-ray
-Web browser
-Bluetooth controllers (xbox uses batteries or $20 for rechargeable battery pak)
-Exclusives
-More options when buying accessories. When buying hard drives or mics, you can buy basically use any laptop hard drive and any cell phone bluetooth. ( With the xbox, if you want need a new hdd or mic you have to go through Microsoft.)
-Netflix
-Facebook (coming soon)
I used to own a 360.

PRO:
Blu-ray, if you have the right HDTV, you can play games in 3d next year, even the Blu-ray movies in 3d will be played on your ps3 next year,
Blu-ray disk, game always fits on 1 disc
free online
don't need gold account to acces net flix and the other functions
built in wi-fi
in 2010 better exclusives
low noise, nice when you are streaming movies from your laptop to your ps3 onto the TV
with PS3 media server you can stream all movies, even mkv
CONS:
no game cross voice chat(not yet)
multiplatform games sometimes better on xbox 360
PRO or CON
I have both consoles, I like them both, but sometimes I like the ps3 controller and sometimes the xbox controller. The ps3 has a f****** awsome D-pad while the xbox 360 has a crap one, but for FPS has the better lay out for the sticks is the xbox controller. But you can buy a second controller, it's called the SHADOW 6 controller for the ps3 with the lay out of the xbox 360 controller.
Well I think the best part is since I have bought my system. Back like two weeks after it came out the only thing I have had to buy is an extra controller and the games. No wifi, point card, external hddvd drive and whatever MC tries to get it's owners to invest in. It has it all. And they update the things we want if there is enough talk about it. Free online that is actually worth the price. I use my blu-Ray all thr time and it's awesome. Once u watch HD. U won't want anything else. untouchables111the great thing about blu-rays is that the price of the movies are starting to drop :)
Who out there owns a PS3 and would like to help me with some feedback. What do you like and dislike about it? Why did you purchase it in comparison to Xbox 360? Thanks!eyegiant
I own both system "BUT" I must say that I use them for slightly different reasons.....
PS3 is for gaming, free online, multimedia entertainment and has better functions out of the box
360 is for gaming, some the exclusives and great interface features
Overall, both systems are great!!! IMO
