Gaming, I mean.

It was for me, because none of the last gen consoles had built in wi-fi and my computer was all the way upstairs. I remember these journalists saying in reviews how they wished this or that game had online, but it never meant anything to me. Now it's a part of the things I take into consideration when making a purchase.

Anyway, my first online experience was the Burnout: Paradise demo, and my first online games was skate.

I was thoroughly obsessed with both when I first got my beloved behemoth.

And you? y tu? et vous?

Well, I played some FIFA 07 matches on the PS2, but nothing more. PS3 really started online gameing for me, first with Resistance and Motorstorm and later with Call of Duty 4, best game online ever for me (That is untill Feb 27:D)

First online gaming experience was the PC. First online console gaming experience was XBLIVE on the original Xbox because, sadly, the Dreamcast failed to deliver online services for all european countries.

No my first online experience was on the original Xbox. Then 360 and then PS3. Then Wii :P

My first online gaming experience was the original doom on pc. I had a 14.4 modem and I was jealous of my friends "speedy" 28.8 connection. Then years of nothing until my PS3

On a console, yes. My first game was madden 07, i had always wanted to play online on my ps2, but i couldnt. But I did play free MMOs on my pc before I got my ps3.

My 1st online experience was The original Socom for PS2, but my 1st online experience for my PS3 was WarHawk and Resistance FoM both awesome online games.

My first online playing experience was with COD: MW and it was glorious.... and still playing it. So far nothing to date has come close.

No, but compared to the 360 and PC, it has been a better experience lately. If only because I am not expected to automaticly talk to the people I play with. There is only so much childish mic banter i can take x.x

Yep first console I played online, and the game was Battlefield: Bad Company, now I'm loving NHL 09 online 1v1's, 72-36-11 at the moment but now I win way more than I lose.

No. I had a slim PS2, no wifi adapter for me, then.. also, my PS2 was on a different floor than my router. And I don't have super long-ethernet cables to spew out.

First online gaming exp. was PC Diablo II. And that was pretty much awesome. But since then not much until just at X-mas my brother got an 80G with wifi. And the age of online gaming has forever changed my gaming existance.

since this is the ps3 forum, i suppose we are talking about gaming consoles, because i think everyone had played an online pc game, counter strike or any mmorpg out there. but well in topic yeah, the ps3 was the first console i played online, and its the reason why i like shooters now, i played half life, counter and other crap out there but didnt feel to comfortable playing those in my pc. then when i bought my ps3 along with mgs4, burnout paradise and cod4, daaam i just put the dam cod4 disc, didnt even checked the single player and went straight to the multiplayer online, in that moment, the amazing things ive read about this game were true. my first gaming console online experience was great with cod4

My first real online gaming experience was World of Warcraft. I say "real" because before that it was Penguin Chat way back when, but that doesn't count because it was more of an interactive, flash chatroom.

Oui Oui, Unreal Tournament 3 opened the door to online gaming on the PS3 for me and I've been impressed. Burnout Paradise upped the ante for me :)

Nope played on an xbox before and PS2 and PC (of course) before PS3. The DC had online I never used it though at that time i was young and we still had dial-up i think, were you able to play games online? because I know you could surf the web.

Can't say that it is. In general, my first online experience was on PC years ago with the original Unreal Tournament. As far as consoles, my first experience was with Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal's multiplayer. Nothing quite like turning online opponents into sheep and chickens.

First game that I played online was the first Diablo on Bnet. PS3 was my first console that I experienced online play and the game was Warhawk.

I played a little online on my PS2 back in the day but the PS3 was the first seamless experience that I have had with online gaming (outside of PC of course). I prefer online gaming on consoles way more because cheaters are much more rare, and everyone has the same system, so you can't blame your suckiness on your rig.

no, my first online experience was metroid prime hunters on the DS, but i didn't see why everyone loved online so much until i got my PS3.

Wait, so do PC games count, because if so, there's Starcraft, Diablo 2, CSS, CS, etc. :P Console-wise, I played a few games on my PS2 online. Mainly Ratchet and Clank. Good fun :)
