I was the exact same way. The first game I played online was NBA 2K6, followed by Fight Night Round 3, and then 40 Player Resistance.Gaming, I mean.
It was for me, because none of the last gen consoles had built in wi-fi and my computer was all the way upstairs. I remember these journalists saying in reviews how they wished this or that game had online, but it never meant anything to me. Now it's a part of the things I take into consideration when making a purchase.
Anyway, my first online experience was the Burnout: Paradise demo, and my first online games was skate.
I was thoroughly obsessed with both when I first got my beloved behemoth.
And you? y tu? et vous?

No, I think Counter Strike on computer was one of my first experiences and I played quite a bit of StarCraft, a couple free MMOs and more recently before I got my PS3 a free stand alone Quake 3 mod called Urban Terror.
The PS3 was my first console online experience though, playing CoD4 and man did I hate the auto-matching, I was just so use to getting a list of servers/hosts and being able to choose which match I wanted to play in and make sure I had a good ping OMG is that to much to ask but I don't mind it as much now.
For me apart from PC it was Xbox 360, then recently PS3 as well.
I much prefer Xbox Live to PSN, but I guess you can't argue with free in the ps3's case! :D
