Was there a particular game which made you buy a PS3?

MGS4, LBP, and cause i didnt wanna play hundred to get my xbox fixed.

so i made the switch to a better console.

I bought one when they first came out thinking a twisted metal would soon follow....boy was i wrong lol

MGS4 and GTA4

Because I wanted FF13.... and little big plannet and the irony is I don't yet have that one. thx to the outage I get it free....

My Xbox 360 RRoDed and I didn't feel like chancing another one, so I got a PS3. MGS4 was probably the biggest reason I wanted one at the time.

Not really. I just liked all of the PS3 exclusives.

GTA IV. Although once I got the system I found so many other games that I still haven't got around to playing GTA IV.

MGS4 was the reason i picked mine up.

No specific game. Back when PS3s were still $400, one of my friends offered to sell me his for $200. It seemed like a great deal, so I thought I'd go for it.

I remember watching the trailers for FFXIII, FF Versus XIII and Assassin's Creed (back when it was exclusive) and knowing that God of War III was coming before PS3 was out so I got it on release thinking these games would be out few months after the release haha.

God of war 3 and Metal Gear solid 4

Not really. I've been a Playstation fan ever since I got my first PS1 back in 1996.

I originally bought a PS3 for Disgaea 3 but later on I picked up other great games so it more than justified my purchase.

No games. All systems have games I would enjoy playing. It was the price drop to $300. What made me choose Sony over Xbox this gen was the free online ($60 a year), and blu ray. When both systems are within the same price range the PS3 is a better system. Xbox online maybe better but you are paying for it yearly.

Resistance fall of man I think it's a great game.

I had an Xbox360 first so that is the system that I play most games on, but I really only got a PS3 for the exclusive games it has and the blu-ray player. Also I never had the first Xbox as I only had a PS1 and PS2, and I got the Xbox360 because it was the first "next generation" system to come out and I just couldn't resist and I had to buy it.

MGS4 and Uncharted 2 were big parts of the reason I bought a PS3. Top that off with free online gaming and great bluray player and it was a win-win-win situation for me!

I purchased my first PS3 (a 60gig, which died on me a few months ago) somewhere near its launch date--a time when the PS3's game library was a desolate wasteland--and along with it, I bought R:FOM--a game that I only learned about after the PS3 was released--and Madden 07--which was for all intents and purposes complete and utter garbage.

However, I did buy the PS3 chiefly for gaming. I simply believed that since the game libraries of Sony's previous two consoles, the PSX and PS2, were to my liking, I would enjoy the PS3's game library, too--without necessarily citing a specific game or games. Well, maybe that's not entirely true, because I also assumed that some of my long-time, favorite series (like MGS, GT, FF, DMC, etc.) would make their transition to the PS3 as well--and that played a relatively significant role in my purchasing decision. But to say that there was a single game in my mind when I was deliberating the purchase of the PS3 would be fiction.

I bought my PS3 for Heavy Rain and Uncharted.

Killzone 2 and a fat tax return not to mention it was birthday time

Final Fantasy Versus XIII is still the reason why I bought a PS3 and still waiting for a release date for it.

But also there was-

• Metal Gear Solid 4
• Devil May Cry 4

Probably little big planet.

I originally told myself I would buy a PS3 when Gran Turismo 5 came out. Years went by, and after my 6th Xbox 360 died, I learned and bought a PS3, along with Uncharted 2. I have since bought another 360... its great not missing out on exclusives.

MGS4 is the game that made me buy it, being a fan of the MGS series I just had to play it

God of War III

-which is ironic as i never purchased or rented it.

I knew about Resistance: FoM and how fun it looked. Then there was MGS4 and FFXIII coming later in the years after. That was enough for me to spend over $600 on a PS3 :P

Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots was thebiggest reason I bought a PlayStation 3, but there were also the games like Uncharted and God of War III that sealed the deal.
