Will I see differences from dvds or do I need a bigger screen.

You will see a small difference.

Usually it takes something over 32 to see a significant one.

i watch hd movies on my 17" laptop screen and believe me there is a big difference. I also watch on my 32" and obviously it looks better but you will also look at the difference on a 19".

It's definitely gonna look better than a regular dvd and like a previous poster said make sure your using hdmi for the best results.

You will notice a significant difference in that small screen, but for a true experience I suggest watching Blu-Ray in something 40-inch or more.

I seriously saw no difference between Blu ray and an upconverted DVD on my 26" HDTV... Was beginning to think Blu ray was useless. Then a bought a 42" 1080p tv. Boy was I wrong! Blu Ray is superior to DVD on a good tv.
