Way too many FPS; Not enough RPG, Racing, and RTS!

Too many of these First Person Shooters are springing up out of the ground...frankly, I think devs are oversaturating the market with them. I'm in the mood for an evolving online adventure/rpg, or something. I didn't get a new system to have access to a lot of the same ol!

were you under a rock the last few days and somehow missed E3, plenty of games coming that fit what you want so chill and go read up on stuff that was just talked about like HS, uncharted, burnout paradise, and all those other games so go check it outKurupSoldr

and in comparison to that, how many fps did we see at E3? plenty! and there are more to come!

ok lets see, K2 COD4 HAze, thats all i can think of now non FPS games- ratchet and clank HS, uncharted, burn out paradise, stranglehold, mercenaries 2, GTA4, and plenty others. Now keep in mind i am talking mostly only about ps3 games except the multiplat i listed. so break me off some more FPS titles becuase thats all i can think of

A few weeks back, I was on here saying the same thing. Developers are flooding the market with First Person Shooters.

i said for the PS3 its a PS3 forum, crysis is PC ok brothers in arms i can handle but anyways they are not going to stop what the majority like and what sells so

we all like apples...but if all we get is that, sooner or later pineapples, oranges and mangos are start looking more and more appealing and apples boring. I believe that time is now!

i personally hate fps because they never change the play style and its pretty much always teh same except story and graphics...

so i also do not understand why they woudl release more than 5 within a year, nobody will buy all 5. not even an fps junkee, they couldnt fully enjoy each one for 5 a year (lets hope)

i would like an mmorpg for ps3, that would make my life better. and i dont mean porting everquest or wow to the ps3 like most companies would do, those suck. i want a next gen rpg too: ) can u imagine summining anima from ffX in hd? yummy.

Honestly I am kind of getting sick of the "Hollywood" shooters in general like Mercenaries 2 and Stranglehold. But that's what pretty much keeps our market here in North America running. I think the original poster was looking for something more unique. Now there are some FPS games I think are really interesting, but I understand exactly what he's saying.

Right now my top most wanted game is Crisis Core, Final Fantasy VII, followed by Skate from EA, and possibly Warhammer Online. Alan Wake is another game I've been looking forward to as well, but it's not going to be on the Playstation 3. But with little information on Killzone 2, how can you not be interested.

But this is probably one the reasons why I haven't bought a nex-gen console. Not saying I have no interest in those games, but I just don't have enough. I do miss the 40-50 hour epicadventures.

Square Enix is working on a MMORPG. The biggest rumor is that it'll take place in Ivalice or Gaia(from FFVII). But that idea is somewhat negated. Square Enix announced that because of the Playstation Network, they have no plans as of yet to put their next MMO on the PS3 platform. Right now they are developing a multiplatform MMORPG for the PC and the Xbox 360. As you know NCsoft who has done some good MMORPGs on the PC will be developing MMORPGs and other online games for the PS3 exclusively(with probably the PC being a exception). I believe they have the licenses to create a MMORPG in the Marvel Universe. This is a direct offensive move on the DC Universe MMORPG being released on the Xbox 360. Of course if you own a PC you get to enjoy the majority of these games.

These are the only ones I remember that are out and will come out. some of these games can be barely called shooters, but they are shooter's nontheless. so yeah, i agree that there are too many shooters and not enough of everything else, especially RPGs. I've seen E3 and the only other genre I saw other than shooterwas action/adventure. I know the rpgs and others will come, but a shooter heavy console is something i never wanted with the PS3, that's what the 360 was for and all of it's one-sided, mind-numbing shooter glory.

You got Oblivion now on PS3, Ninja Gaiden is great if you never played it, plus Assians Creed is coming out soon.

On 360 they got all those games coming along with Mass Effect (FPS/RPG makers of KOTOR) and some other RPG type games that look real good.
