I was playing the original FFT on the PS and I was wondering: What if squenix made a version, remake or original, of FFT for the PS3 and/or PC.

It could have super detailed maps and characters ala FFX and FFXI instead of the superdeformed ones from the original and the GBA games.

What else would you ask for in such a title?

FFT on PS3 would be a dream come true. Seriously. I love the Tactics games. I'm currently addicted to A2.

Well Im certainly not going to go out to buy a psp just so I can play tactics. I do have the original from the ps1 which I am pretty sure works on my ps3 so if I do need a quick tactics fix I can get it.

Still, if they brough out a tactics remake for ps3 and charged 99.99 id buy it first day.

I totally agree. It is time Square stopped wasting time making more SNES looking tactics games, and they put one out using more updated graphics.

Would be awesome, but I'd want it to be a new one. I was too young for strat RPG's when Tactics came out on the PS1, but have been playing it on my PSP on and off since it came out. Recently just picked it up for a second go through. Disgaea and others dont even come close. In fact the closest experience to FF Tactics I've played has been Jean D'Ark on the PSP. Story and characters are as engaging, just not nearly as much character customization.

So yea, FFT on the PS3 would be amazing, but I doubt we'll ever see it.

that's so funny! i was about 10 years old when FF7 came out and loved it! it was the first RPG i ever really got into and so when Tactics came out, i was like "i HAVE to have it!" however, i just couldn't get into it! it was too much for me at the time! so i put it away and forgot about it, then about 2 or 3 years later, i saw it and said "why not give it another shot?" and i fell in LOVE! i was in 8th grade by that point so i understood it a lot more and to this day, Tactics is my favorite Final Fantasy.

i personally think that the PSP version is enough. it's got new cutscenes and voice acting and it's perfect. part of the game's charm is the fact that it's in 2d. it looks so pretty and the hand-drawn look is perfect for this! a 3d Tactics for the PS3 just wouldn't sit well with me. i think if anything, just porting over the PSP version to the PSN would be enough. it's so good!

I think Final Fantasy Tactics is reserved as is. I mean I think by making a remake it would take away from the originality of the 1st game; My opinion. Tactics is a great game and I still own it and play it til this day. I welcome a remake, but at the same time think that if they did decide to do it we would all be waiting awhile for it just like if they tried to make a Final Fantasy 7 remake. Two great games.....

Well... the closest you'll get to FFT on PS3 right now would be Disgaea 3. (Out in just 15 days in the UK!)

Eh, I just bought the FF Tactics re-release on PSP recently and I'm not really too fond of it. I just find it too frustrating to be fun. I hate the grid system that most strategy RPGs tend to use. How do you plan a real strategy when you've just got a small square, gridded area to fight in? And what's with enemies levelling up with you? If there's one thing that ruins an RPG for me, it's that. It strips the game of any real feeling of progression. What's the point of even having random battles if the experience you earn from them doesn't help build up your party in a way that really affects anything?

It should just be the random battles where the enemies match your level. I believe the story battles all the enemy levels stay the same.

Matsuno is no longer with Square.

Meaning whatever sequel Square makes, it will not even be half as good.

a remake would be reat, but i think they wouldn't do it on the ps3 coz War of the Lions is already in the PSP... maybe another story that plays the same with some improvements like character design (maybe now they can look bigger, unlike before that they're like midgets), next-gen graphics, etc... will do... i love FF Tactics as well...
