I think it will happen. Microsoft doesn't own Bioware anymore, EA owns the company now. I find it very very possible that a PS3 version will surface sometime this year.

just because ea own bioware doesnt mean nothin. it reported that ms has a contract for mass effect. if bioware did sign a contract before being purchased they still cant back out or they well be hit with a breach of contract lawsuit.and after seeing dragons age abysmal sales on ps3 it wont help matters and i purchased daorigins on ps3.
Im positive it will happen at some point of time, EA knows ps3's install base been increasing like crazy and they cant just ignore more money to them. hope it does since i know a couple of people that want the game

...O.o?
It's not matter of IF we will see ME2 on PS3, but WHEN!? EA needs money, they had massive lay offs, are they going to say no to a port for PS3, which essentially means fREE MONEY? I doubt it. MS payed for timed exclusive, like how they have done for many other games in this gen. You are going to see GTA4 episodes on PS3 this year, same with ME2 and Splinter Cell, i am 99% sure of that.
Either way i am not fan of ME, itried first one on PC and was done with it after 2-3 hours.

THANK YOU!! You get it! EA is a money hungry company, and if they want a PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 they will get it. Microsoft may have signed a exclusive contract, but knowing EA it was only a timed exclusive. Microsoft has been doing this crap since Splinter Cell on the original XBOX, they flaunt it as being exclusive to their system when its not.

Indeed, one of the many reasons I can't stand Microsoft or any of its products. *shakes fist at Windows*
If thats official i'll like to see about the sales figures.just because ea own bioware doesnt mean nothin. it reported that ms has a contract for mass effect. if bioware did sign a contract before being purchased they still cant back out or they well be hit with a breach of contract lawsuit.and after seeing dragons age abysmal sales on ps3 it wont help matters and i purchased daorigins on ps3.

when ea purchased bioware it purchased it contracts and debt. when you buy a company and it had contracts with other company. the purchaser cant change the contract to suit its needs. it bought those contracts also it is illegal to change or alter contracts after a 2nd party buys you out. ea is stuck with whatever bioware has sighned wether you or ea want it to change.
[QUOTE="atc-fanatic"]If thats official i'll like to see about the sales figures.its at 1million sales for 360 and 1\2 million on ps3. so it only sold half the 360 sales with only a 5 million console gap doesnt look like a good attach rate 2me. only ea\ms\bioware know the truth. and i hope it does come out so we all can enjoy but at this momment i dont see it.just because ea own bioware doesnt mean nothin. it reported that ms has a contract for mass effect. if bioware did sign a contract before being purchased they still cant back out or they well be hit with a breach of contract lawsuit.and after seeing dragons age abysmal sales on ps3 it wont help matters and i purchased daorigins on ps3.

They are still making profit from the PS3 version so i don't see the problem also it was in a pretty crowded games area. Wheather or not there will be Mass Effect 2 on PS3 i'm not sure i just get it on PC.[QUOTE="shadowkiller11"][QUOTE="atc-fanatic"]

Seems like you are the only one in here who knows the concept of how contracts work. LOOK ITS A 360 TROLL!!!! So I'm a 360 troll cause you don't know the concept of how contracts work. The contract that was agreed upon can't be changed just because another company bought them. Only way for it to happen is if both party agrees to null the contract or agrees on a new deal . For example my parents have a mortage contract with Washington Mutual bank. WaMu is now own by JP Morgan. No matter how much they want to null the mortage agreement WaMu made with my parents they can't so they must have to abide on what was agreed upon prior to it. It is possible for ME to come to the ps3 since we really don't know what the contract was between Bioware and MS. If the contract was agreed upon to being solely exclusive on MS system then there is nothing EA can do about it.I believe it's unlikely however I still hope it does see the light of day on the PS3. An awesome game should be enjoyed by all.

That's because Bioware has an established fanbase on the X-Box. KOTOR, Jade Empire and of course Mass Effect. Dragon Age is the first Bioware game on a Playstation console. Considering that, the PS3 version sold very well.

like all contracts, they can breach and just pay the difference. bioware couldnt, which is where microsoft wanted them. but because ea can and will microsoft is offering proper compensation. in any event i believe its just a matter of time, hopefully before me2 gets "greatest hits" status (pretty words to cash in on a title whilst one still can). im no big fan of ea, but the more money me2 makes for ea on ps3, the more a giant is swayed by sony. and finally if none of this pans out the 360 will kill itself with the first dual disc game which we will see soon enough and the market will move accordingly with obsolete techniques. yay for 33gb bd's. and pioneer makes a 16 layer 400gb bd that works with existing lasers.

its just a matter of time. if not me2 it will be the next big exclusive. though i hope me2 does make its way to ps3 as i wont be playing it otherwise. and think of it this way microsoft fans: the sooner that happens the sooner micro releases a new console; keeping the market competitive making everyone happy. micro can move mountains with its wealth. when it chooses not to its because they are gouging a market to death. why release something new if the old still sells well? would you?
even if it does, not buying it..nothing specialI think it will happen. Microsoft doesn't own Bioware anymore, EA owns the company now. I find it very very possible that a PS3 version will surface sometime this year.

Yeah itll be pretty good. I reckon as soon as the MS contract ends, EA will port it over. And EA dont do there ports that bad.Im positive it will happen at some point of time, EA knows ps3's install base been increasing like crazy and they cant just ignore more money to them. hope it does since i know a couple of people that want the game

I don't think so because you need to play the first game to get what's going on so it wont make sense no to release the first gameI think it will happen. Microsoft doesn't own Bioware anymore, EA owns the company now. I find it very very possible that a PS3 version will surface sometime this year.

Go read a book everything he said is true its the same with Disney and marvel and the analogy he gave was perfect. The world doesn't run on hopes and dreams especially not business.Seeing as EA owns the IP, and they and Bioware are so 'pro' PS3, it certainly seems possible, if highly unlikely.I think it will happen. Microsoft doesn't own Bioware anymore, EA owns the company now. I find it very very possible that a PS3 version will surface sometime this year.

I would love it, however I don't think that it'll be happening, and if it does, which it probably won't, it won't be any time soon.
I'd rather see Lost Odyssey come to PS3, i dont really see why everyone likes Mass Effect so much.

You have your opinions about what games are good and others have theirs. Respect that people like myself don't like Japanese style games and prefer western style story telling. That is why people like Mass Effect. I could have came on the Lost Odyssey board and said I don't understand why people like this stuff. The guys look like girls, the story makes no sense, is this part SUPPOSED to be funny or is it just funny because it is rediculous. People have different taste so let them decided which games they like. As for Mass Effect and ME2. If they put out some sort of Ultimate edition with both of them in it for the PS3, I will buy it, but until then I will just keep playing them on the 360.

Thats cool, i mearly stated my opinion though. Dont get me wrong, i love the story, i love the sci fi, the characters, i just couldnt get into anything else.
While it may appear on the PS3. The first one has yet to make an appearance. And I don't intend on playing the 2nd one without playing 1st one 1st.JKnaperek
this is an aspect i had not fully realized. yes that kinda puts a wrench in the works for mass effect. while they could fit it all on one disc that wouldn't be a true 1:1 port. that would require more work. and u cant cash in on the brand by giving away mass effect.
im of the few that played the first, and wants to see the sequel on ps3. i remember playing it on xbox and thinking how much greater it could look on ps3.i remember seeing party members limbs disappear quite frequently. as if the x360 dumped memory for predetermined optional rendering on the fly to keep the fps up. and that was chuggy at times too. if ported over i would like to see it cleaned up and given a chance to shine. u see i want my cake and i want to eat it too.
if only multiplatform was made for ps3 then ported to x360. but nooo
Yeah, it was a total train reck on that console. I traded it in and bought the PC version.... OMG. Its like 2 different games. Honestly, though, I would try it on the PS3, but I'm sure it'd still be so much better on PC.i remember playing it on xbox and thinking how much greater it could look on ps3.i remember seeing party members limbs disappear quite frequently. as if the x360 dumped memory for predetermined optional rendering on the fly to keep the fps up. and that was chuggy at times too.

i never bothered having already paid once. and at the moment i'm in need of a decent new computer. my laptop stops at directx 9.c, and i havent upgraded yet because i refuse to spend $400 on a bd-rw drive that is still hit or miss in todays market. that and because i dont know anyone that knows what they are doing and i dont feel confident to build one myself. so consoles is all i got.
