if you mean rpgs that are currently out, id say: demon souls, fallout 3, valkyria chronicles rpg titles that im anticipating are: ff versus xiii, white knight chronicles, ff xiii at first i was frustrated that square only created rpg titles for the xbox 360, but when i played them i was further disappointed bcuz they sucked. the only ones i thought were great titles was lost odyssey, tales of vesperia. eternal sonata was average

Well, the top 4 are definitely Demon's Souls, Fallout 3, Valkyria Chronicles, and Dragon Age: Origins. Personal preferences would then determine the top 3 from those. I'm excited for the ones ransomink has posted as well.
Man, I really need to get Demon's Souls. Other than that there is one other RPG I really liked which was Eternal Sonata. As for up comming RPGs... Final Fantasy XIII looks exciting (minus the main theme for US version). And White Knight Chronicles looks promising... That's it for me.
it's a shame there aren't more rpg' this generation; as aforementioned i miss the ps1/ ps2 era. i'm eager to get my hands on final fantasy xiii, and to see more of versus xiii.

i would have dragon age: origins take my 3rd spot but i havent played it yet, tho when i do i kno it'll be up there. i hope resonance of fate will be good. the battle system is intriguing so far, but story is a main factor for me as well

I agree. I'd also say that while there may be less RPGs, the quality of the RPGs we are getting is much better than the RPGs of the PS2 era which was mostly a lot of mediocre RPGs IMO.

I agree. I'd also say that while there may be less RPGs, the quality of the RPGs we are getting is much better than the RPGs of the PS2 era which was mostly a lot of mediocre RPGs IMO. Very good point aswell. It had it's greats, and so does the PS3, with plenty more to come. The PS3 is just missing the mountain of mediocre RPG's that were cheaply developed on the PS2.
I find it odd that a lot of people didn't list Dragon Age: Origins, particularly the people who could only think of one or two titles and complained of lack RPGs. Has this great game been over looked?

Well for me its because I've already played most of the PS3 RPGs on 360. I've already played Fallout 3, Dragon Age, Eternal Sonata, and even Star Ocean which comes next year. When I do finally get Oblivion, I'm getting it for 360, so that pretty much only leaves exclusives and future RPGs. Out of the 4 exclusives I can think of off the top of my head, I'm playing DS, I have VC unopened, haven't played Disgaea 3 yet because I want to play the other 2 first, and still haven't played Folklore but do plan on getting it eventually. I'm getting most of next year's RPGs for PS3 though so I'll have much more to compare after playing those. Also still waiting on US announcement of the PS3 Tales of Vesperia, but if that doesn't come soon I'll wind up just playing that one for 360 too.

Sadly there have not been many RPGs for PS3. The only RPG I've played so far is Demon's Souls (playing Dragon Age on 360).
Agreed. I picked up Enchanted Arms (hadn't bothered to read the reviews first) while the concept was good and the game looks great, it is confusing and leaves A LOT to be desired. We need some more great RPGs on the PS3. Thats my mainstay genre. I actually HATE shooters with a passion
