Seems to be a lot of price threads this morning
As I stated in other threads, I feel as though I'm the only one seeing the signs so: check my blog for an informational post coming soon that will contain sites an information about the possibility of a PS3 price drop
the games are coming not to long now, a price cut to 455 though would sky rocket the salesbigLLL
the price wont go that low for years. by christmas it def will go to $549, maybe 499 (bluray diodes becoming cheaper)Â but thats pushing it
for now just need games
my theory tbh it's crazy but possible.
Sony make a price drop on the PS3 from $1,000 to roughly $500-$600 (60GB model) then people start buying as more companies start to see more PS3's obtained they start moving to make exclusive titles for the PS3 because of the blu-ray and well 50gb you can't say no to that if your game company starting to see more of the PS3 bought you would make titles that are jaw dropping. then people start to see how more and better titles are coming out on PS3 then well sales go through roof.Â
may seem bit dreamy but I don't know just something that popped into my head while being bored tbh.in the uk even if they just droped it to the usa price that thing would fly of the shelves
cause wed be talking a drop from $425 to just over £300 which iwould  only be £20 more than the 360
Drop the price of the launch period software, as well as games like FEAR and Splinter Cell. Only Resistance and Oblivion actually warrant a sixty dollar investment, the rest are thirty dollar games, at best.TuvacI wouldn't say Resistance really, that game is worth $40 at best, and Oblivion is a year old game - so really, that isn't worth a full investment either. Maybe if it came with Shivering Isles...
I see a lot of the same postings, just rewritten in different ways, so I thought I would give the topic a much different spin....
Sony could dominate, and I mean dominate, with two very bold moves....
1) Â Buy EA
2)Â Buy Ubisoft
They could do this either by stock trade, leverage their credit and sizeable holdings, hostile take-over, etc. You then take the mammoth software holdings and make damn near most of them Sony exclusives. This is especially true of everything Ubisoft. Whatever you didn't make exclusive from EA on a PS3 you could, at the very least, keep most of the bonus and WoW features PS3 exclusive... forcing a very compeling reason for the XBOX and Wii owners to jump ship to the PS3 platform.
Sure there are other, and some would say, better companies Sony could buy. The point, however, is to make a crushing blow to the rivals of Sony and to take the wind out of their sails right NOW. Like it or not, if Sony bought EA and Ubisoft (hell even one of them would do) the hardware sales would go through the roof as the exclusives started pouring in. After that, all the niche publishers with loyal followings would start publishing more and more Sony exclusive since that is where the money is going to be.
This would also not be the first time Sony has made moves to buy media companies. They already own half of Hollywood. They would also face little monopoly hearings from the government either. There are plenty of software publishers out there and we are a country that just seems to loves the merging of giant companies all for the sake of profit. At the end of the day, this is a business and Sony has every right to purchase any company they want....
The other option is to buy like 4-5 of the leading secondary choices.... Activision, Square, Epic, Capcom, Blizzard.....etc. Either way, spend A LOT OF MONEY.
That's my two cents.....Â
