What did you think of Resistance!?

Please everyone post you're thoughts of Resistance! When it first came out I loved it and everyone else I heard did too! So tell me why you liked or Hated this game!? Because I don't see why people didn't enjoy this game!

Seriouly tho I loved this game and I'm pretty hard to please with FPS games... I thought the detail was amazing, weapons were unique and just fun, story was very interesting, I mean its WWII but with an alien invasion?! That's intense!

I just don't understand... So I am just curious as to how many people loved or hated the game... Looking for either a yes or no please... but please post reasons!

Loved it, played through it on every difficulty and then a couple times on Co-Op, and the story was just amazing.

On top of that the Multiplayer was done almost perfectly

i thought i was great. flaws but the originality made up for it. awesome game and it had co-op! which made it better. not enough games with splitscreen these days

My cousin and I were playing it the other night, I think he nailed what the problem was with it. We think that it was a PS2 game that Sony told them to switch over to PS3 at the last stages. Think about it, animations, menus, feel, etc. All feel almost exactly like a PS2 game... it seems like they added some physics that weren't capable on PS2 and pushed it out the door.

Notice how much better everything looks in R2? I think it makes sense... I don't think R1 was/is a bad game, but it's definitely a last gen game in HD.

well it was basically ps3's first attempt at HD and advanced physics in the next gen setting. so i dont blame them for the minor slip-ups, buut nonetheless, an awesome game in my mind

Go play Half-Life 1 and Half-Life 2, then say this. Dare I say, play Halo 1? Those are all great shooters that are much better than Resistance. (Half-Life 1 and 2= greatest shooters of all time)

Cool. That makes sense. Wait till you play Bioshock! It almost has a metroid-esque type feel because you're so alone through the whole game. When you play it don't think of it as a social shooter like Resistance or Halo.

Gaylo Is Crap from the First Till The Third Its All Crappy But Half-Life is like different its a freaking cool game But IN MY OPINION Resistance is worth Playing More even tho the soldiers are f*cking dumb but the story the gamplay the character everything is so realastic and awesome dude And Dont Say Gaylo Coz I Wont play with a character who has a green dick

Since I don't say words like "Totally", I'll say "Very much".

I think it is way overated, dont get me wrong its a good game but i had the impression it was like gears of war so when i first played it was obviously quite dissapointed. Good game but not as good as its made out to be IMO

That's your problem. Why would someone think that an FPS game would be something like Gears of War which is a 3rd person shooter.

Great game, its the first game i actually played (bundled along Motorstorm) when i got my PS3... finished the game's SP mode 3 times and a couple of times in co-op mode... also many many hours of online fun :)

can't wait for the sequel :)

That's your problem. Why would someone think that an FPS game would be something like Gears of War which is a 3rd person shooter.

I know it was stupid of me, i was never really interested in the game at all until i saw it for £7.99 in my game shop. So it was an instinct buy. That does not mean though that my opinion of it is wrong, as an fps game i still think it is over rated.

I thought it was very solid launch title and I enjoyed the hell out of it

Resistance:FoM is one of the best games i've played this gen. I love the game and its story.

I don't know, a viral infection during WWII that makes highly regenerative intelligent soldiers (almost like zombies with brains) seems pretty original. I can't think of another game or movie that's played this card before.

I tried halo 1 and that game is revolutionary, then when halo 2 was released it was kind of a disappointment.

havent tried halo 3 though. but i think overall the halo series is doing pretty well although i like gears a whole lot better :)

I love it, though not at first. My buddy brought his PS3 over and let me play it and I didn't care for it. Then when I bought my PS3, I tried the demo again, and I still wasn't convinced.

For the hell of it I decided to buy it anyway, and I played it through. I had a good time, but I wasn't overly impressed. As I do with all games, I bumped up the difficulty and played it through again, this time falling in love with it.

Nathan Hale and the story of Fall of Man really clicked with me on my second playthrough. Not just that, but the large scale fights with kick-ass weapons, fierce enemy AI and action all over the place really did it for me.

I ended up beating it three times, loving it the third time even more then the second, which I loved. I'm getting ready to play it again in preparation for Resistance 2, a game I expect to be amazing in every single way.

To be honest, before Resistance, the last FPS I truly loved was Far Cry on the original Xbox. FPSs have never really been my thing, that is until I fell in love with Resistance. The story, Nathan Hale, the Chimera, the weapons, the setting, the epic battles, the control, the fierce AI - all of that just really clicked with me.

Love Fall of Man, and eagerly awaiting Resistance 2.
