does your system turn on at all? If not, then I don't see how you would do it... Also, have you removed the old hard drive from the system? If that is the case, then I am pretty sure you lost everything because I think the hard drives need to be formatted when they are plugged back in.

it doesnt turn on at all, and i took the original hd out a long time ago and replaced it with the 320. i know the hard drives get formatted and i could have sworn i read somewhere before i got the rrod that its possible to copy the memory of that hd without using the ps3. i wish i remembered where thou.

Sorry wish that I could help more... Hopefully another member on this site will know the answer and put forth enough energy to type it up and tell you. Maybe if you googled it you might find more info?

mayyyybe a driver clone program such as the ones used on pc repair shops, but i seriously doubt it... if ur ps3 is out of warranty google PS3 YLOD FIX, it involves opening ur machine and reapplying the thermal paste, tough i dont recommend it, it seems like a really risky procedure

if i am correct you might be able to connect the ps3 hdd upto your computer and copy what you need off. Once you have bought new ps3 you can then swap drives and then restore files by coping back
