I hope its good. I want good games for PS3. InFamous was developed by Sucker Punch. They have made 4 games, 3 of them were based off the Sly Cooper series for PS2, which i've never heard much of personally, but they got decent/good reviews (nothing great). The other was Rocket: Robot on Wheels for N64. They have a lot of experience with cartoony games and it looks like they are going for the realistic approach. I have a lot of hope, just not a lot of faith based on some of their other work. You can bet i'll play it and hope i'm dead wrong though. I just like to take a deep look at games before I buy them.

I'm thinking InFamous will be cool for a few months, then Uncharted 2, Bioshock 2 and Modern Warfare 2 will steal the spotlight and we won't hear anything about Infamous again. All of those promise things that all the great games have now.

really depends on the genre...

it has to be good on all fronts i guess. if one is really superb, other parts can be mediocre (assasins creed comes to mind) but the gameplay can't be broken or frustrating to control.

First thing I always look for is a dark theme/setting, if the game looks dark or sinister I can't resist in most cases ha ha. Next I look for a good storyline, it needs to be something original and well written, and last I'll look at combat/overall gameplay, if a game for example has an interesting combat system I wont be able to help but try it.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII basically does this for me, would be why i'm so psyched up for it. Dark setting and characters, should have a good storyline (drawing elements from Shakesperean plays) and I absolutely loved the combat in Kingdom Hearts and it is assumed it will be very similar.

Yeah, me too. One things for sure: as you've pointed out, we have quite a line up of games to keep us entertained throughout the year! Even if InFamous does bomb there are some guaranteed hits around the corner!

Atmosphere is a good one, Scianix. That's part of the reason why I loved Fallout 3. The gameplay was great and entertaining to no end, but that Wasteland was just like WHOA.

The Wasteland was just so eerily beautiful to me. It conveyed a lot of emotion in me looking at that scene. It really got me thinking: could our world look like this one day? The setting was just gorgeous. Add in the equally eerie musical accompaniment to the setting and you've got one hell of an experience. The first-person perspective only added to the realism for me. Wonderful game that was really brought to a new level with the atmosphere. It's not full of colors or bright lights. Just lots of browns and earth-tones, but it fits in so well with the Wasteland. It's a Wasteland. There's no room for pretty colors.

Wow, you painted such a vivid picture in my head. Its funny how you can make something called the "Wasteland" sound like a vacation resort. lol

Story and gameplay only. I don't care much about graphics and I really don't care about multiplayer.

I also don't care much about replay value because no matter how awesome the game is, playing it the 2nd time bores me because I already know what will happen.

Hey, peoples, I was thinking about how there are not a whole lot of games that really appeal to me. After giving it a lot of thought I realize its because a lot of games have a crap story. Or no story at all. I really am a big RPG fan. I love the MGS series. I like the Kingdom Hearts games. I really dig Valkyria Chronicles. I just love a good story in my game, and I see a lot of titles REALLY lacking in that department.

However, a good story isn't all it takes. Shotty gameplay can almost instantly make me lose interest in what happens next. Ugly graphics also contribute to a story losing its cinematic appeal and drain it of its realism. Now, multiplayer I could care less about. Its fun, but like I said: I buy games for a good tale to play through.

Anyway, what really draws you guys to a game? Just curious. :)

Gameplay is the most important. After that, hard to say which is more important.

I personally find the story very important too and the gameplay is very important, the graphics and multiplayer are not so important for me but if the graphics are really crap I would get frustated

I want everything in a game, in this MGS4 is a perfect example. Great multiplayer, second-best graphics?, awesome gameplay, not to mention the EPIC story. What i also would want for MGS4, are trophies, although i'm happy either way. Of course everyone can't balance it as good as Kojima.

I hate how games these days don't embrace the 4 player offline multiplayer of Goldeneye days, adopting online as everything. I think if your gonna put multiplayer in a game there should be both offline and online. Co-op is a plus but not completely necessary because some games just feel good as one player but a little respect for the 4 player offline needs to be shown in todays games.

For me it is gameplay. If a game has bad graphics it can still be good if the gameplay works well. Second comes the graphics.
