What do you think is the "it" game for the PS3?

I understand MGS4 gets high marks because its a good game, but I would say it is not an "it" game because only the fans who understand MGS understand MGS4.

Back on topic. What is the "it" game for the PS3? Or is there no such thing yet? Maybe its too early to start saying "it"

I know RE4 was the "It" game for PS2.

Well, then I'll have to agree with Uncharted 2 like the other guy said. It's the first game everyone recommends for the PS3.

Heavy Rain would be a possibility after they come out with a sequel but I still don't think nothing comes close to Uncharted hkymike

mgs is not for everone, and uncharted to me had little replay value (even though the game was awesome)

I don't think you can really single out one game as the defining game of a system.

I know I definitely wouldn't call RE4 the "it" game of the PS2. There's way too many great games that came out on the PS2, none of which I would call the "it" game.

to me online is not for me, that is why i love rpg's the fallout so much

as much as enjoyed the single player, i did not play the onine once,

now demon souls was a surprise i did not expect it to be that good, it had high replay value and over 100+ hours of playing.

so you tell me what game would someone like me like more? many agree with me as well

The main thing that gripes me about online is that I use to know so many people that would never purchase a game unless it had some sort of multiplayer in it. So naturally I absolutely hate it when people try to make a short campign game out to be loaded with replay value because of some mp feature.

But I find out that the guy who said Heavy rain could be the game so far for this console. That is quite and interesting revalation.

The "it" game is Metal Gear Solid 4, not because I'm a huge fan of the series since '98, but because even new gamers to the series agree. It didn't get such high ratings for no reason afterall. You are just another example of the many who mention MGS4 on this board, a game that came out 2 years ago and is still being talked about.

Certainly the "it" game among the general populance is Uncharted 2. Though for me personally it's Demon's Souls.

Well for me personally it was MGS4. But others like GoW3, Uncharted 2 and the soon to be Gran Turismo 5 are the "it" games for PS3 as well. Little Big Planet was popular too.

Uncharted 2 or MSG 4 are the "it" games. But if i had to choose, then inFamous.

Demon's Soul is too specific a genre for being the 'it' game, I mean, how many people grind their time into the super-hardawful RPG (and how many actuall know the game)? Heavy Rain is something new, it is great and wonderful, but it won't appeal that much as the others. So it all boils down to the big guns -- Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, GOW3 and well, Grand Turismo 5. But why the hell are all of them sequels?... Anyways, most people would probably choose action/shooter games as the 'it' game. As for me, Uncharted 2's the one; great gameplay, story, engaging all throughout and one of a kind. Heck it's even executed by the developer that brought the one of the Playstation's first best selling series (Crash)!

I found Uncharted 2 to be the game that I will never forget.

It just has so much going for it and really pulled me in. The story, soundtrack, awesome gunplay, and gorgeous graphics really make it #1 for me.
