Uncharted 2. If you want to demo the awesomeness of the PS3, that's your 'it' game.

Heavy Rain would be a possibility after they come out with a sequel but I still don't think nothing comes close to Uncharted Melpoe
It doesn't need a sequel. There are too many different outcomes and I don't know what the conflict would be....
But a prequel...
Their is no way a sequel would ever work and a prequel is possible but it would just be way to complicated. I think Cage should just stick to his plan and progress onward from Heavy Rain.He should just continue with a new project. A prequel could work though
Big spoiler!!!
It could be game where you help Scott commit all of the murders and set up the trials.
I know RE4 was the "It" game for PS2.
bigboss1203

FFX and SotC were definitely the "it" Games for the PS2......RE4 *Giggles and Snickers*
But anyways I would say MGS4 but OP does make a point that only true fans of the MGS series will really appreciate it, so Ill go ahead and say GOWIII and Uncharted 2
As a fan of Resident Evil since the Original game, RE4 ruined the series, don't get wrong, it's a great over the shoulder game, but it just took way too much stuff that made the RE games unique. Capcom decided to screw the fan base and make the game appeal to the masses by turning into an action game with ammo/herbs everywhere, removed the beloved zombies and the biggest change of all, the Survivor Horror was gone. If RE4 had a different title, than it could have been one of my fav games for PS2. My only hope is that the RE6 go back to the roots.
!Uncharted2!
i would say Demon Souls, but some people are too nooby to play it :D
MGS4 is not for everyone, but for me its the best game this gen :)
NO no no no. RE4 was the gamecubes game. san andreas was the ps2's breakawayI know RE4 was the "It" game for PS2.
outworld222
The term is "killer app."I understand MGS4 gets high marks because its a good game, but I would say it is not an "it" game because only the fans who understand MGS understand MGS4.
Back on topic. What is the "it" game for the PS3? Or is there no such thing yet? Maybe its too early to start saying "it"
I know RE4 was the "It" game for PS2.

Any game that goes heavy, heavy mainstream simply creates cash flow of mediocre titles.
I don't believe there is a "It" game for PS3. In fact there are couple of them. And RE4 was not the "It" game either for PS2, in fact there were couple as well.
Why settle for one where they can be many. I enjoy choices and variety.
UNCHARTED!Melpoe*rage slowly builds* Well I know most people will say Uncharted (sadly) but im going to have to name a couple :P. Demon's Souls. Valkyria Chronicles. MGS4 (obviously for MGS fans) And Heavy Rain. As for graphics id say Killzone 2 or yes your precious Uncharted 2.
All those games you listed are very niche games and without a doubt have more flaws. So I strongly disagree ;). Uncharted 2 is definitely the game, although for a bit more mature audience, GoWIII is a pretty big one.
