9.5 would be my guess. 10 wouldn't surprise me though. They've only got about 2 months left to knock that darned PS3 game out of the top spot for game of the year; I imagine the pressure's getting pretty intense.
Wow a lot of people have no respect for GS. Honestly I think the game will get an 8.0 or 8.5 from GS. Because if a game doesn't really improve over last years title they tend to dock points off of it. For example: NHL 09 was one of the greatest games I ever played. It got a 9. NHL 10 I think is a better game. They gave it an 8.5. Which is dumb. A games score should be based on what the merits of the game are. Not on what its predecessors did. If a game is really good just say its really good end of story.
This game is like a restaurant putting leftovers in the microwave and selling it for $60. There is nothing new to this game. No innovation, just wash and repeat.
That said, they SHOULD give it a 7.5 or 8, but they will probably give it a 9 at least.
It will probably get its share of nines and 9.5 and possibly an editers choice award form GS. By the way, why are there so many MW2 haters? I must be one of only few PS3 people here that is actually looking forward to this game.
I won't be surprised if it gets a 10 or a 9 why ? Well.. -Its record to be the most best selling game of all time -After the Love of Moderen Warfare comparing to World at War im sure they already knew what to do and how to do it right -Gamestop and everywhere else is promoting the game to its fullest and on top of that the pre-orders and promotions period is making it rise. The game is going to be serious stuff....im holding on to my money over Uncharted 2,Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Assassins Creed II, and God Of War Remake just for Modern Warfare 2. Becuase I know im going to be on it for a minute...but im working on a well paying job so i already know what the deal is with the words "pre order" lol

I feeling a 9, and you can guarantee every review is going include the phrases "improves upon _____" and most likely "it still feels like the same game".
MW2 is going to be sick, no doubt about that. But its only going to be slightly different from a gameplay perspective. Just CoD4 more refined. If any major site gives it a perfect score I'd be shocked because its the same gameplay just better. Nothing major, and there was nothing fundamentally broken with the first game so there are no earth shattering new mechanics or drastically changed from CoD4.
So far it looks like there are a decent number of tweaks from MW, and I think it will get a 9.5 from GameSpot. Wouldn't be surprised if it got a 9, and would only be a little surprised for a 10. But it will definitely be 9-10...
I'll go with a 9.0. It'll probably have a short (but sweet) campaign, and of course we know it's mainly about the online. Won't redefine shooters, but will provide many hours of fun.
