They think it's a waste of time.
Whenever they c me holding the controller, they think I'm playing a "wasting my life" game. When in fact, I'm most likely watching a movie, video, comic, or listening to some music. They don't understand I could do those things on the PS3. So everytime they see me with my controller in my hand, without coming in and look what I'm doing, they would say "Can you play a little less video game?"
I would then be mad, but not as mad as if I'm really trying to play a game because that's like telling someone to stop watching a TV series say CSI:Miami or something in the middle of the show; I work my a$$ off the whole week and try to relax a bit, give me a break.
Cool. =]
My cousin is getting a Wii for his Christmas, which is cool. =]

Plus with one nephew moved. I want to play Galaxy some more lol "no thats not why I talked my sis into the Wii instead." And he only lives like a few hundred yards down. So we should all have fun with that. I figure he'll be more PS3 ready via 09 or something. Plus in 09 the world will be more PS3 ready.
lol - great question - my mum doesnt like it at all - but thats because she wants me to be studying 24/7 - she likes the way it looks and the stuff it can do - my dad is still going on about how he wants to buy a 360 and then replace my ps3 with it... although he is joking just to annoy me lol - he loves the fact that it does true HD and likes playing games on it too...lord-of-gamers
Aghh the ignorance of un savey tech older men. If it were not for them, the 60 sales would be nill lol.
my mom was amazed when she saw me playing Gran Turismo HD. So much that she wanted to play. (this is really odd for someone who has never had any interest in video games, never even played pacman or pong)
My dad saw me and my cousin playing resistance and he said, it's amazing what they do nowadays. That looks extremely realistic. (when the camera zoomed in on Nathan.)
My sister had the same reaction as my dad. she saw a video of little big planet and begged me to buy the game. She was bummed when i told her it wasn't out yet. She still asks me if the game has come out yet. (she's 22)
well i don't have a ps3 yet, but my parents think i souldn't buy it because it's alot of money and they say it's just like the ps2, and my dad also says "wait for the ps4".kiwisama
Sucks to be you I guess, though the PS2 has way more games and will probably for the rest of time lol.

guess i smoke too much weed lol
Haha! I get told to get off my PS3 and get some fresh air alot... Lol
My dad is impressed with CoD4 but has never touched a video game in his life, and probably will never either (he must be very lonely...).
My mom wants it out of the living room 'cause she wants to have the TV free.
To all those that have parents saying "games will ruin your life"...
Just ask them if they would rather you be home playing games that increase coordination and possibly stave off brain related illnesses when you're elderly....OR out and about with them not knowing what you're doing or who you're hanging with.
btw, I've been playing games since the Atari 2600 / Commodore 64c days, it's hardly ruined my future. I have an engineering degree, married to a beautiful wife and have a kid...yeah, utter failure. ;)

nah, i'm buying it regardless, it's my money and i can buy what i want with it, the parents just help by having a plasma in our house :P
Lol, I think you guys should laugh at me...
I've been wanting a ps3 for almost 2 years now and I know my dad will buy me almost everything i asked him (yes, even a hugh flat screen TV). But the thing is, he is living alone in HK and working for money to support my whole family in Sydney. I feel so guilty to ask him to buy those expensive stuffs since he won't be able to use them. So I'm trying to earn my own money...
BTW my mum hates everything that looks expensive and computer liked, including my first dvd burner i got from my dad last year..
