What game do you regret buying, going against your instincts and saying to yourself that should be a good game.

Fallout 3. I really wanted to get into the game, but the amount of glitches and hideously boring combat just destroyed the whole experience for me
The first Sonic the Hedgehog they released for this system.... it is the only video game I own that I absolutely refuse to finish..... and I own over 140 games haha so that says something about how bad that game is.
Bioshock was weak, but I had nothing better to do at the time.
The Wet Demo was great, but the stupid Boneyard running target practice things don't work out so hot in reality.
Also, the Orange Box. I don't like Team Fortress, Half Life sucks and Portal is lame.
I had the same experience with Wet. loved the demo, in fact love the basic gameplay mechanics, over the top action and arena settings, but there is some stupid level and game design choices that bring the whole game down.Bioshock was weak, but I had nothing better to do at the time.

There are 3 games that I thought I'd end up putting more time into, but just haven't.
1 - F1 Championship Edition - I thought this game might bring back the feeling I had the first time I played a Formula 1 demo back in 1997 on the original PlayStation.
2 - Metal Gear Solid 4 - idk I've tried to like the MGS series, but it just gets to be too linear for me. Plus there are way too many cutscenes - though they are very well done.
3 - Soul Calibur IV - the main issue is that I don't really know anyone else that wants to play fighters, so I'm limited to playing against the CPU. I chose this one (PS3 instead of Xbox 360 version) because I thought it'd be more fun to play as Darth Vader than Yoda - I ended up getting Yoda from the PSN store.
Like I said, I probably just need to put more time into these to appreciate them more.
Persona 4! Kidding kidding! I'd be a failure of a hardcore JRPG player if I didn't love this game. For me, Heavenly Sword and Assassin's Creed fit the bill best.Symphonycometh
I would say Heavenly Sword if i paid full price, but at £7 it was well worth it, great game.
fallout 3- i found it unplayably boring
resident evil5- good for a first playthrough but right now i'm just feedup with the dlc and new edition
resistance 2- they took everything out that made the first game awesome, also on a side note i felt my character was unusually short... anyone else notice this?
also modern warfare 2- i fell into the hype and got it and while it was fun, the single player is way too short and the story was too outrageous for me to enjoy it. on top of it i don't play multiplayer much
even though its not a bad game really I would have to say MAG. I really thought it would have a lot more depth to it but being an online title only it really is lacking. Again im not bashing this game but just that I do not believe it was worth $60 to me and I should have waited for a price reduction. What game do you regret buying, going against your instincts and saying to yourself that should be a good game.

well, I have no regrets but the closer thing I got to a regret was fallout3. sorry I still don't get why this game is so hyped. the characters felt like soulless dolls, the environments were brown, grey and some more brown. I played it in front of some guy and he said: "man I'm gonna vomit how can youplay this abomination?". I don't think it's an abomination but yeah, it's not that good.
but what the heck I got it when the ps3 was lacking in RPGs, platinumed it and replaced it for batman:AA so no regrets :P
I don't regret anything I buy.
When I buy a game, I thoroughly research it to determine whether or not I'm interested. If I'm interested in it, I weigh my interest against the cost of the game. When the price of the game matches my interest level, I buy it.
This saves me from feeling regret because I always know what I'm getting, and I always pay the price I'm comfortable paying.
That's not to say that no game has ever disappointed me, but none have disappointed me to the point of regret.
Besides, dropping money for a game isn't a problem for me as I make more than enough money to buy all of the games I want, so if one isn't quite up to my expectation level, or I pay a bit more for it than I should have, it's no big deal.

I can count on one hand the number of FPS single player games I thoroughly enjoyed-- Half Life 2 being one of them. Just because you didn't enjoy it and regret your purchase doesn't automatically mean that it sucks. I could say Fallout 3 sucked because I quit 3 hours into the game, but I'm not that ignorant. I know it has plenty of aspects that appeal to many different gamers; they just don't appeal to me.
Anyway, Fallout 3 and and Soul Calibur 4 are my choices.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, I was really looking forward to it... brought too much into the hype (joined the official forums and all) and was ultimately let down.
sF 4 , i hate this repetitive game. and i cannot sell it because it is the CE and i have discarted the box! so no barcode!! i am stuck withis cursed game for ever!
