What game so so popular and had such high expectations but when came out was a total disaster.
for me(dont kill me) GOW3

God of War 3 wasn't quite as great as I expected. The fight with Zeus could have been better, and the end overallwas a letdown
Anyway, I think it would either be Final Fantasy XIII or GTA IV. I have very few good things to say about GTA IV, but Final Fantasy XIII had some redeeming qualities. It wasn't near what was expected of it though. It hadstellar graphicsand I thought it had the best OST in all of Final Fantasy so it has those things going for it, but the design of the game itself was very flawed. Still, I'm glad I picked it up. For all of its flaws it was still a worthwhile experience. Sadly, I cannot say the same for GTA IV, especially considering its bloated reviews and mountains of hype. It was a letdown.
I was really looking forward to Brutal Legend. Shame it turned out to be one of the worst games I've ever played.x-2tha-z
BL's downfall was that it tried to be too many genres at once.
In terms of scores, probably Lair. Out of my own personal collection, probably Dragon Age (not that it wasn't good).
for me it was GTA4, i personaly think so far san andrea's has been the best GTA to date, i don't like the entire city landscape in 4, and couldn't get into the storey as much, i don't lik niko, and i don't like that's it wholey more serious, one of the things i loved about GTA was how you can have completly rediculous police chases and blow up car's and have fun which isn't as easy to do in number 4, i hope the next one incorpates more of the elements of SA then of 4
While I agree that GOW3 wasn't as great as expected, I don't necessarily think that the fact that GOW's gameplay was so similar to previous iterations should be a negative. They gameplay really was a solid and fun as ever. Sure, it didn't evolve much, but it was fun and the game was pretty to look at. To me, in that respect, it was a win. The real purpose of the game, IMO, was to close up the story and end the trilogy. (unfortunately the story was only OK, not amazing).in GOW3 i felt like i was doing the same thing over and over
mgmt101
Any game that has been under development since 2006-2005 and released recently
I mean really if these developers have been working on these games for 5 years they should be AMAZING! but they release and dont deliver
For me its FFXIII, I waited years for the game watched every trailer read every tiny detail and i was so hyped, but the game was a disappoint for me.-Hoax-I agree completely. At the beginning of this gen, I actually bought a ps3 because of this game, and I had been hyping it for many years. Unfortunately, it was my least fave FF game (liked it even less than XII)
Can anyone say MGS4? I don't care if you guys disagree with me or not but its my personal opinion. Going from the transition from MGS3 which was a great game to MGS4 which was so boring for me. I struggled to to finish it on the first playthrough and couldn't even bare the thought of playing it for a second time. I loved the other MGS games but this one was by far the worst game in the series even though it had lots of good things going for it.

I co-sign with this statement, mgs4 is just a complete disappointment. especially the online portion, it is just flat out horrible
[QUOTE="MushroomWig"]Biggest hype to failure ratio has to be Haze.Duckman5Has to be. That game was just awful.
This is why I don't hype games at all. I never bought into the hype and the game turned out to be fun while playing with my brothers. I never expected much from it but it did have some good things going for the game that made playing it enjoyable.
Final Fantasy 13 : all the good things that made a JRPG are gone : you can't do waht you want in fights as you control only one character, the levelling system is so limited you can do random distribution and it's OK, no towns meaning no new insight from villagers, no side quests, no new shop with new inventory, no typical music, aeons are a joke : only one for each character, you use them as special attacks in a fighting game ...
Undoubtedlt GTA IV. I was so gutted when I played it and found myself feeling really bored and thinking how lazy the developers seemed to be.
Uncharted 2 to a certain extent. It's very good but not the best game of all time like people were saying. An 8 out of 10 for me.
kayne and lynch was over hyped one of the worst games i have ever played. final fantasy 12 was a disapointment and brutal legend i have to defen because the gameplay was good the story was fun and the music was awsome the only problem it had was it could be completed in a day and the RTS was a bit fiddley.
Haze did but i didn't fall for the hype.
Killzone 2 somewhat with controls
Final Fantasy 13...wtf happen. square enix pissed me off with that disappointment. Versus will redeem the franchise hopefully.
