I notice a lot of people on these boards complain about frame rate and I have not really noticed anything but all I have right now is heavenly sword. There are no issues with framerates on either of the consoles, some games use locked framerates, other use varible, either way if you're having issues then changing menu options wont help.
My tv runs at 60 FPS and I just assumed that all games were at 60 fps. Now I hear games are at like 20 fps.
This really bugs me because I have a 360 and there isn't any problem with frame rates, and PS3 is definitely a more powerful and over all better console so why the hell does it have problems with frame rates? Is it too advanced or is it's processor working too quickly for most games out right now? Will things get better as more games are produced at a higher frame rate?LivingReceiver
Most games on the PS3 don't run at 60FPS or 20 FPS, they usually run right at 30FPS. And most of the framerate issues people have with their PS3's are related to playing games when they are logged into the PSN or if they are DL'ing content in the background while they play. This can sometimes cause games to drop frames.
Some of the initial launch titles on the PS3 did have framerate issues due to growing pains with the Cell processor, but it's gotten a lot better & people can alleviate most of their framerate issues by logging out of the PSN while they are playing or making sure that they do not have DL's going in the background at the same time.
i had my ps3 switched out already because the ethernet port blew out on my original.... i dont know if this is my personal system thats a problem but....
whenever i play the SKATE demo i notice that it sometimes lags a bit when moving fast coming out of a trick or something....
and i also suffered from some slowdown 1 time playing resistance in the level where u encounter the first stalker... when all the enemies are dropped down and released
also ive had some lag and delay in oblivion like when an enemy comes at you... but i heard that oblivion is a very buggy game to begin with so i didnt think much of it... the skate thing has me a bit worried though
i havent played the actual skate disc though, just the demo
are people serious, no lags?
Oblivion?
NBA2K7
Skate
Call of duty3
Graw2
The Darkness
need for speed carbon
i could keep going o, there are many more.
i AM a ps3 owner, and not bashing it at all...... but 'most games' have framerate issues and it really pi$$es me off!!!
especially when if on the 360, they do not.
its lazy programming, and im still hoping for much better.
to me, framerate totally ruins a game if its poor.... even if the game is soooo amazing, i simply cant play a jerky game.
The Chinese have a saying... 'The bigger the tree, the more wind it will attract. So, in Sony's case... The bigger they are, the more criticism they will get. :PThomas-Crown
Wise saying indeed.
so there really is nothing wrong with my ps3 then... you guys having issues with SKATE too huh?
and about the darkness... i didnt have any issues with that at all until i beat the game... the deleted my save and started a new one... when i got to the part where you gotta go to the lower east side to see jackys aunt or whatever every time i would exit the subway it would FREEZE halfway through the loading screen, every time, no matter what i did, it was a rental BTW
So what are we supposed to live with it like it's normal?
This is absolutely unacceptable. I really hope those who said they have had problems we're oblivious to the fact that you were on the network downloading something
easy solution: buy quality games instead of buying those lazy ports.lhbchen
what do you mean? HS is a lazy port?

HS has no framerate issue on me, at least no noticable/unplayable issues.

Lazy port means the developers started with the X360 version then port it to PS3, but did a poor job due to their laziness in learning the PS3 programming. That's why lots of PS3 version of multi-platform games suffer from framerate issues.
