I've tried Windows media player 11 and can't get it to work (my PS3 isn't detected when I go to Share media)  I've tried all the firewall settings I could think of (for like 2 hours) and nothing seemed to work, is there an easier program that does it.

I have a wireless connection to my PS3 through a ****** router.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know of anything easier -- it took me 2 minutes - this could be why you aren't getting many replies. This will work as a bump as well for the smarter ones out there :)

Try this http://www.orb.com/ and if that doesnt work go here http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=ps3media&thread.id=44510 This is a playstaion.com board about streaming media to the Ps3. I hope this helps.

WMP11 doesnt work well, i have tried without any firewall router just a simple lan and nothing happens. just use TVersity, its easy and lets you stream avi files over your ps3.

WMP works ok with me. The only letdown is that it uses a lot of resources from the PC, making it annoying to use the PC while the wmp server is active.

Its kind of a pain to get running (or at least it was for me), but the Nero Media Home works well for me, and it will transcode other video codecs (Divx, Xvid, etc) so you can watch almost anything. I wouldn't recommend it if you're using a wireless connection though. Mine was getting the audio out of sync after a few minutes if anything else was going on in the background (i.e. a download or another program running on the PC). Wired it works great though.

Windows Media Connect works perfect for me. It's the same program I use for my x360.

I use orb, it works ok for music, movies though not so much. Not to mention it only seems to play music ripped from CDs instead of downloaded music.
