Honestly don't put it on the carpet or floor. And if you have it on the floor have it raised off and on something. Like I have mine sitting on top a bunch of old PS2 cases. Never gets hot. But the carpet and floor choke it. In fact don't put it any where it can't breath. Bad idea. Outside of that I believe there is a special fan you can get that the PS3 connect too. Seen those before but most people never really buy them.Hello lads, first time here lol...!Its really hot in this country(Cyprus). i just have to save my ps3 somehow...?

Dont know about cooling down, but like he said... put it were it can breath and not in the sun... pretty much that :D
One thing I have done is to put two DVD cases under the right & left side edges of the PS3, so that the maximum amount of the underside of the machine is exposed to wide-open airflow, as is the top. Make sure the back of the machine (where cables connect) is wide-open to airflow as well. If you can let air circulate around the machine, your console should stay well within the running temp specs.
If you REALLY want to cool it down, you could get a laptop cool-pad, and power it off one of the USB ports on the PS3:

Aside from cranking up the A/C, all you can really do is make sure it's sitting on a hard surface with good air flow.
You could try connecting a USB fan to one of the ports, although I'm not sure if it'll work successfully. Look it up on YT or something.BrokenSkylightfirst, and i dont mean or want to sound like a je** but if its THAT hot in your house maybe put off buying any games ect for awhile and get an air conditioner. i simple 5000 btu window unit should work if nothing else, there cheap "should be much less than a ps3" easy to install and im just assumeing you have a window to put it in, and the newer ones are pretty energy effeciant. But if thats not posable for what ever reason, just get a good desk fan and have it blow air at the ps3, or buy one of those ps3 cooler systems. if nothing else you might be able to rig up a laptop cooling pad to blow air on to your ps3.
