I had to get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of that one.
seems like i can't even remember how long it was because it was so long :D
orphen: scion of sorcery had a horrible long cutscene before the last boss fight and you couldn't skip it. that's probably the reason why i didn't finish the game up til now.
I've never played any of the Half-Life games, but a friend of mine said the opening cutscene to one of the games (can't remember which) was literally an hour long. Can anyone confirm this?deuce85
The Half-Life games don't have cutscenes and the parts of the game that you don't control only last a few minutes at most and usually only ever appear at the beginning and end of each game. There are gameplay 'scenes' that last a while but there are never lengthy moments that you can't control.

Yeah there is no cutscenes. Only interactive cutscenes which last a minute or two.

Yeah, the first Half-Life at the beginning you have to sit on a long tram ride. It is not an hour long, however, it does take a while. I'm not sure if this is what your friend was referring to, but it sounds like it.

That may be what he's talking about. I know he was talking about an earlier game, I bet that was it.

Oh yeah in Half Life 1. Wasn't really a cutscene, but you couldn't do much. It lasted about 4-5 minutes.

Sorry but Half Life doesn't have cut scenes (or is that HL2?) well HL1 theres an opening where you don't get to play with guns but you can still move around. HL is told entirely through one persective only and flows continuously (with loading bar of course) and no cinematics. Shame cus i'd like to see Freeman say something, not anything in a cheesey voice like in Halo. Hey! What about Morgan Freeman? Confuse the hell out of people on the episode 3 credits.
All of the cutscenes from Xenosaga for the PS2!

The cutscenes from xenogears (on Ps1) are even longer hehehe and if we ever see Xenosaga 4-5-6 the cutscenes will be godly!
The majority of disc two in Xenogears is just an incredibly long storytelling scene. It's broken up by short playable sequences though, but I'm sure parts of it were 30+ minutes. Otherwise, I know for certain at least a few of the cutscenes in Xenosaga I were 30+ minutes.
Okami's opening sequence is pretty damn long, too.

I had to get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of that one.
When I play MGS4, I'm going to wear a diaper, because I'm expecting long-@$$ed cutscenes.

Thay should make a feature to allow you to pause in the middle of a cut scene.

I'd rather wear the diaper.
