I remember playing Resident Evil on the Playstation with all the lights out, in the basement with the sound cranked up all the way and man was it scary and fun at the same time:D
D no Shokutaku on PlayStation. I'd never played a horror game before and this game while short was damn creepy. After that the original Resident Evil on PlayStation did my head in a bit too. Many years later when I play horror games I find myself laughing most of the time.
In all honesty, probably the first Fatal Frame. The original Silent Hill also creeped me out. And I agree with several of the other guys posting on here: Eternal Darkness was awesome. Koudelka, though not scary, had a really morbid and macabre story. I loved that.
The scariest moment with my console was when a friend of mine rented a Naruto game and used my PS2 to play it. That was horrifying! Its bad enough he likes the anime. To force my poor PS2 to sully itself with that game. ~shiver~
any horror game I played beyond two years ago are pretty much gone from my memory apparently, but RE4 and FEAR were pretty crazy. Playing against the "Right Hand" for the first time with lights out and volume cranked up was one of my most fond memory in gaming. I was SO scared seriously, lol.
FEAR is the scariest game I've ever played. But, the scariest moment was in RE4, when the the screaming guy on fire jumps out of a locker at you. I screamed like a little girl, dropped my controller, and nearly s*** all over the floor.
The Fatal Frame Series. I had a few people who said it was stupid in capturing/killing ghost with a camera was stupid but my wife got really scared when I turned out the lights to play the game. I hope another Fatal Frame will come out for next gen consoles. I litterally jumped and got scared constantly with the Fatal Frame Series.
Agreed. The original Silent Hill on the PS1 was the scariest, most fun time I ever had. Nothing has trumped that first time experience when the town changes to the other dimension.
Silent Hill 2 wins for not only being the most subtly scary game, but also for being the best dramatic horror story ever. In terms of literal scares, Fatal Frame 2 got me the most, but Silent Hill 2 was so intense it implanted irrational fears into my subconscious.
Resident Evil 2 for me..RE 4 was good too but that was littered with more action than 2 so i felt more suspense in RE 2 the more i went thu empty rooms oh and the waitng for the load times on my ps1 also helped build up the suspense somehow...also who can forget those horrid controls? controlling ur character and running away and **** was scary in itself in those RE games on ps1 cuz it seemed so complex to do!

haha exact same thing for me :).. I remember it was at a friend's house and his dad came sneaking behind us and scared the **** out of us :) .. good times !
