What is the Worst Final Fantasy the series' history??

Okay, so, a lot of people were complaining about how FFXIII ditracted from the series, and therefore, is not a "good" game. I, on the otherhand, think it is absolutely amazing.

Now, the thing is, iv'e only played FF7, FFX, and now, FF13.

So, i was just wondering; well, certainly FF13 is not the worst the franchise history. So, in affect, what is?

According to you, what do you believe is the worst Final Fantasy game and why?

I've played I, II, VI, VII, IX, X, XII and VIII is the only game in the series I couldn't keep playing simply because it was uninteresting, the junctioning was horrible and it felt to me the system pulled you away from the main game itself. Igot tothe end of 2nd disc and gave up.My favourites though are I and II.

From what I've played, VII. Well, it was the most generic, but I can understand how 'amazing' it was back in the day.

I like them all actually, I just like VII a little less.

FF Tactics rules all FF games

Final Fantasy2 was a huge step back from FF1. FF1 featured link too :P

I disliked IX, I found the characters and setting boring especially after completing VIII. I'd have to say Tactics and VIII are my favorite in the series.

I've play 6 - 13 and from all of them i dislike 13 the most. I just think that its all melo-drama. There are no lighthearted moments and little interaction with the world around you. Some of my favorite parts about FF is that you have a world to immerse yourselve in. Here you just follow a story like you were playing uncharted. Which is still good but its not what i play final fantasy for.

FF 8 and 13 are the worst. While not bad but the weakest of the bunch

I'd say FF12. It was quite sterile, imo, and the characters weren't altogether compelling, I found it a chore to play, to be honest.

FF10 was the start of the end for the series. it became too linear and not enough exploration. It did have good parts like blitzball and the leveling up system, but the game itself was too much like an interactive movie I found.

Out of the ones i played X-2, XII and XIII i hated with a passion.

I played - I - IV, VII - X-2, XII - XIII

Final Fantasy 8 definitely FF8 something about that game got me pissed whenever I played it.

I have played I,II,VII,VIII,X,X-2,XII, and XIII.

In my opinion I really think FFXIII is the worst yet.

i did'nt like X-2 and XII.the x-2 where too confusing ...you must found the side quest.the gameplay where not as i wanted cuz i tought X-2 had more orbthings that make you do magic ability.lack of equipement.

I never finished 9 but i played it right after beating 7 and 8 back to back so i probably needed a break from jrpgs at that point.

I didn't like X very much either but i did get to the final boss. I already saw a friend beat the game so i didn't bother beating him.

I despised XII and i've watched my friend play XIII and while i think it has outstanding gameplay i hate the story and the acting, it's sooo melodramatic from what i've seen. When that afro guy had his gun pointed at Vanille i was wishing he'd point it at me.

Versus XIII seems to be a renewal in your eyes then, and I really hope they pull it off. I would kill for an amazing JRPG right now.

I gave FFXIII nearly 20 hours to show me anything to grip onto for my FF love. Sadly, it will end into trading shop very, very soon.

For me personally, X-2. FXII and FXIII are the worst.

I played FFVI, FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, FFX and regrettably above mention ones as well.

I truly hope VS XIII brings back the emotions, music, story I so much enjoy in RPG's.

Oh well, back to FFVII, FFVIII with PSP.

XIII has it's issues, and while it is disappointing, it isn't nearly as bad as XII. About 90% of the game was a tedious slog, the dungeons were mostly dull and excessively long, and worst of all, the battle system was a complete and utter disaster. The story wasn't bad but that battle system absolutely destroyed the game. Also, the ending was very underwhelming.

Definitive answer for this thread would be FF X-2 lol.

I wasn't very fond of FFXII.

FF 8 and 13 are the worst. While not bad but the weakest of the bunch

XII, i just really didnt like it, i didnt find the story as engaging as the previous ones

I thought FFII was the worst because the leveling system and soundtrack was terrible. I found the characters really boring too.

Final Fantasy X-2. Though if we are referring to actual numbered ones that aren't spinoffs or sequel's then I'd have to go with 4. Just couldn't get into that one-- didn't even like the remake for the DS.
