I've been playing Killzone 2 as well... just started like you... and I've noticed that compared to the single player campaign the controls are not quite as tight and the cover mechanic is gone. Huge disappointment.
To answer your question Body Count gives you the most experience. +2 per kill instead of the usual +1 and if you have a certain badge unlocked (Killing Specialist if memory serves me) you get +3. So thats 3x the experience than any other game type nets you.

Plus you get an extra point if its a headshot, so you can be getting +4 per kill
