My bed room setup. 32" LCD Samsung full 1080p HDTV. 5.1 logitech speakersSk8ter_213Same setup here only 720p... Will probably upgrade to a 42" by the beginning of next year.( probably a Plasma, I absolutely can't stand motion blur or 120hz or better) Big tv give you an advantage... not really. But HD over SD yes theres an advantage.
Am I the only one who's playing on Philips SD TV with 18.8 inch screen without option to connect Headsetand everytime I play games I have to listen to other garbage? Anyway you could send me LCD TV if you want.
do you think a good tv can give a gamer an advantage?johnpav88To a small degree. If someone is gaming on a small tv then i believe there at a disadvantage, however i dont think somebody gaming on a medium-large sized tv is at a disadvantage to somebody gaming on a huge tv. The main advantage wud come from somebody playing on a hi-def tv against somebody playing on a standard def tv.

Really at a technical level the smaller tv would give an advantage because it would display faster but at the speeds tv's load you really cant tell for the most part. Large tv's are nice for being able to tell what something is at a distance, like a person or objective.[QUOTE="johnpav88"]do you think a good tv can give a gamer an advantage?cheezy909
i am gaming on a 46" sharp aquous 1080p lcd, which has a very low response time of 4ms, there still is motion blur/ghosting but its tolerable.
Well i dunno if you are talking about contrast and picture quality in giving you an edge, but some tvs have a delay in them that makes the controller feel like it takes a while for the signal to reach the console, when actual fact the delay is in the tv. I did some research after i bought my tv and apparently sony, samsung and sharp all have low delay times compared to most other tvs.
All though best tv of all is pioneer kuro, and if you have it i am sincereley jealous of you. Its even better than a projector.
Well, I just bought a Hitachi 22' yesterday. Not the best of the best, but it's certainly fine for me.
Main gaming tv is a JVC, 61", HD (720), rear projection, LCOS (HDMI'd to PS3 60 gig). It took me awhile to get used to this big (very bright screen, turning head while watching &initially fatigued eyes), but now everything else looks puny. All PS3 & most PS2 games look incredible on it.
Back-up gaming tv is a Sony, 36", non-HD, CRT (component cable'd to PS2). IMO there isn't a better TV made for non-HD content (the world before HD is still beautiful). Gotta have a proper place to enjoy all PS2 & PS1 gems on(ICO, MGS, Syphon Filter, & so on). Some older games just don't handle conversion to 720/rear projection well.
You know what? Scrw you people and your HDTV's.

I'm on an old school boxy TV still. Bills and rent are a pain.

It's okay man. I'm in the same boat as you. This old school box tv has served me well over the years. It can hold on for a bit longer. However once that student loan comes through I'm buying an lcd hd tv.

I said BETTER not BIGGER! and even with that said i find whenever im playing a fps that sniping is a lot easier than it was on my little tv. I was thinking the bigger it was maybe the better you can see the distant stuff. those an advantage. sorry again cheezy im not picking on you[QUOTE="johnpav88"]do you think a good tv can give a gamer an advantage?cheezy909
