What makes a person a Trophy ****

I know ppl that buy games only for the trophies, and they're always searching for games that are easy to plat. That's what I call a trophy wh0re. I don't see what's the point in playing a game that you don't even like

My friend is a trophy wh***. I say, "You should play this game" He'll say "Does it have trophies?" And stuff like "I Gotta trophy!" "Get me this trophy!" "Look at them" "I stayed up till 4 o'clock in the morning and 7 hours straight to platinum this game!" He's constanly syncing them and If I'm beating him in trophies he yells at me........ It's uber frustrating. At first I thought they were cool, but now they just tick me off all because of him.

I Know 4 sure im gonna get platinum on Uncharted 2 because it looks like the freaking best game for the ps3 ever xd i loved Uncharted 1. This one is gonna be so awesome with all these nice cinematics, cutscenes... single player story and humor. also the gameplay is smooth :D

How can you define it with seperate Games? I personally really think about buying Up when the price drops or I can get it used. Not because I want the trophies, but because I actually enjoyed the cinema movie :/ Same goes to Terminator, I just bought it because I enjoyed the movie and the series itself. Does that really make me a trophie *****?

As a fan of the series, I actually enjoyed the Game and I don't think I have to justify myself for that, I even got trough it a second time with a friend who enjoys the series as well. Just because it's horrible in the eyes of some ppl doesn't make anyone a trophy adicted if he buys those Games -.-' That's like those who say ppl only bought Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires for the trophies, but no-one cares that most are longtime fans that bought most of the series Games -.-'

Overall I don't think that the Games someone buys makes him adicted but what he thinks while buying. If he buys a Game just because he wants a new plat is what makes the adicted, not the difficulty of the trophies of the Games he plays

I would say a person who started playing games he otherwise won't have played just to get more. Or a person who gave up on a game he wants just because the word out is, Platinum is hard.

But really, at the beginning, it was fun for some, to hunt the few games that have trophies. It was understandable. But now that every game has it, I really don't see the point of looking for them, since you'll get those when you play your game.

if your playing a game that you don't even really like JUST to pad your trophy/achievements and maybe get an easy plat then your a trophy whore.

if your triyng to get a platinum trophy for a game you love (in my case inFamous, Batman Arkham, Flower - no plat but have 100%, and working on Uncharted), then i deem you a Trophy Hunter.

if i have no life then i'll probaly be listing all trophies down and organizing them in order of how to get when to get and when to get multiple

I play games because I love game playing, not trophy collections. However it's a cool added feature to the PS3.

I person like me, who never completes things. The main reason I go all the way for a platinum is so I have that sense of accomplishment and not half assing yet another thing in my like. It really means nothing, but it feels good to know I've beaten every aspect of that game.

A person which plays games for the sake of getting as many trophies as possible. Which isn't one of your options to vote for.

Something else that should factor in is if trophies or the lack thereof affect the replayability of the game. I already have the Platinum for both Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Batman: Arkham Asylum and I STILL plan on replaying through BOTH games again (I've already beaten Uncharted 3 times, but I want to once more before U2 comes out). Hell, I don't even OWN Batman: AA...but I still plan on buying a copy and adding it to my collection.

that is not exactly true. Some of us are not 15-25 and have kids in our home. For me I had to watch my niece(5)(13) and nephew(4)(12). I rented that game from Gamefly because all of my games are too mature for them. Now after I let them play they had about 20 trophies left so i finished it off. Now on a side note, what does it matter if there are people that BUY games just to platinum them? Is that against the gaming code of conduct or something. If that is what they consider fun then that is their choice. What is funnier are the people judging how others play their consoles. my 2 centshiryu3

There's no such thing tbh. If people like earning trophies, that's fine. I personally enjoying trying to earn as many trophies as I possibly can, but I don't play games solely for trophies. I play through a game and enjoy it, then usually go for any trophies I want to try and earn. :D

My counter-argument.This guy was on my friend's list for a while, but I deleted him when I cleared out my friend's list before summer sometime. He's a perfect example.
