Are PS3 games all hi-definition? I'm wondering how this works. I have a 1080p HDTV and so far none of the PS3 games that I've played have been in 1080p resolution. So what is the minimum resolution for a PS3 game? I thought this was the new age of HD gaming on next-gen consoles. Are any of the games in development for the PS3 going to be true HD? How do I find out before I buy if a PS3 game is full 1080p?

720 is HD and currently most games are only 720, but there are a few that are 1080 i think...it should say so on the back of the box what the resolution is...and its probably gonna be a while before developers get it running in 1080 and still have the game running smooth and great...

Most PS3 games are 720 p or 1080i at this point, (very few are 1080p, I think maybe 3 are, but possibly only 2). But 720p or above is true HD so you're getting the experience.

But yes, it will be much better when we get more games in 1080p as promised before the system launched because they look really good.

So am I right in thinking that a PS3 game must be at least 720p resolution but doesn't have to be any higher? Does Sony publish these technical requirements for PS3 games somewhere? Is there some way of finding out whether a game that is in development will be 1080p?

its up to the developer...so you'd have to check for interviews/previewsto see what they're gonna do...

Games must be 720p or 1080p

Devlopers can also encode a game to be 720p and make the PS3 upscale to 1080i if they want.

Most games are 720p at the moment due to the power required for 1080p and effects this has on the framerate. Ninja Gaiden Sigma however is 1080p AND 60 fps. which is preety impressive

The "p" at the end of 720p means progressive the "i" at the end of 1080i is interlaced...i'm not to sure what your tryin' to say...
