I'd personally get a 360 and Wii right now, but if your not really going to get a chance to get another system by the end of the year I would get a 360 and a PS3.
get a 360 and a ps3 and get the best of both worlds, or get a ps3 with an hdtv, or an xbox 360 with a hdtv, or get a wii with an xbox 360, or get a wii with a ps3, its all up to you i guess, or u could get a wii, x360 and a ps3 and an hdtb and surround sound, and wifi, and 2 controllers for both
to be honest you should get a get a 360 first cuz right now the ps3 only has one good game rfom, but in a year or two the'll have the same games and you shoulg get a ps3 then.imo

I understand the reasoning, but buying a 400 dollar system to play games NOW, and then buying a 600 system LATER to play the games you want just seems a little stretched. I would buy a ps3 because i think it has the most potential out of the bunch. People that argue for the 360 say things like, "it has all these games right now..." and "the online is just sooo much better" both things that are caused due to the infancy of the system. people had to wait six months before the 360 had anything that would warrant a purchase....i guess what i'm trying to say is that if you want to buy two or more systems, do that...if you're only buying one, get a ps3.
Well the 360 if you want good games now, but everyone knows the PS3 is for the future. I say PS3 but i would base your chose off, games now, or future.
just depends on what you like if you are a sportsgamer every system is pretty good rpgs i would stick with sony, first person shooters xbox old school favs with a new twist nintendo seriously people like to talk crap but if they had the money they they would buy all three my suggestion would be a combo of the wii and one of the two others but personnely i like the ps3 better than the xbox 360

I had to take into consideration the fact that I would only be getting one system this generation (I spent waaaay too much on games and consoles last gen). I'm going to have to start saving for a car soon and I want to start putting some money away for college (my parents pay tuition, I pay for the rest). I chose to buy a ps3 because I think it will be the most satisfying choice throughout the next few years and has the coolest games. The 360 has some great games, but I liked the variety I had to choose from on the ps3. A lot of the games I thought looked cool for the 360 were shooters, and I got kind of tired of them after the xbox1.

just wait for right now, because the Microsoft is comming out with a new version of the 360 with hdmi and better disk drives. The ps3 is not worth it right now because of not very good software out and it has problems that need to be updated. The only one that is safe to buy right now is a wii. DONT LISTEN TO THESE FANBOYS THEY LIVE THERE WHOLE LIFE WORRYING ABOUT THE CONSOLE WARS.
