Yep I know this would be better as a poll, but sadly I'm not at a high enough level...lol. Anyway, let's say we're using a 10 point scale as follows:

Graphics: /10

Gameplay /10

Originality /10

Innovation /10

Sound /10

Good 'ol Fun (Cause it's darn well possible that a game scores big in these other cats, but is just unenjoyable) /10

Then throw in an average for sh**s and giggles :)

Also, if you wanna note any major qualms or strengths do so. Why am I asking? Well I've been a RE lover for ages since RE1 and part of me wants this game, but there's also another part of me that's screaming stay away. Sooo, I ask you fine folk for your input. Granted, I'm hoping for gamers who have played more than the demo :)

I'm about half way through the game, but so far it is very fun with only minor flaws.

I must say I find the story line to be very uninteresting compared to RE4, but it is not fair to rate it until I actually beat the game. If anything, to me it starts off slowly where RE4 got right into it with Leon's injection.

Gameplay is great, only one section of the game I've disliked so far and that is the El Giante (sp) boss because it was completely stationary and rather long.

I really dislike some aspects of inventory management. Namely if you have a green herb in your inventory and no slots open and you come across a red herb...you cannot simply combine them unless you perminantly discard something. The game would highly benefit from a drop item feature (which would have the item slowly fade away if not picked up). Such a silly omission hurts the experience but by no means ruins the game. I would have also liked to see the vest not eat up your inventory slot since you wear it.

While its not fair to give a proper review until I've explored everything, the game is very fun and addictive thus far...It'll need to be good enough to want me to play over and over again like RE4 to justify its cost. Since $60.00 for 10 hours of gameplay wont do it for me.

If I had to give a score it would be as follows with lots of potential to improve as I put more time into it:

Graphics: /9.5 : beautiful game, hence why it wasn't released on the wii.

Gameplay /9.5 : Extremely fun so far on first play through with very few sluggish areas

Originality /3 : Thus far almost everything feels taken from RE4 and simply upgraded on. This is more of a glorified expansion than a sequel so far. Exception being the co-op mode which is what justifies the score.

Innovation /5 : Very nicely executed areas but again, not a lot we haven't seen from the last installment of the game outside of a co-op experience

Sound /8 : Very nicely done, nothing really stands out yet, but it in no way hurts the experience thus far which is what really matters.

I'm less than halfway through, but I was sort of in the same state of mind as you so maybe my opinion can be worth something. Just to say- I am also a huge RE lover since the days of 1 where i was shaking in ma boots! When RE4 came out, I thought of it not as a Resident Evil game, but as an action game with the RE story attached. This is also the state of mind I used going into RE5.

Graphics: 9 /10 - This game looks really good! Not much is actually wrong with it, it's all incredibly convincing and the style is super slick and nice. Wesker looks better than ever!

Gameplay 8 /10- I've played the demo LOTS so I'm used to the controls now and there's nothing wrong with them. The only thing I don't like is the reloading (how you cant move and reload at the same time). Really, if you were fine with RE4 controls than this game shouldn' bother you much

Originality 7 /10. You're basically shootin stuff.... a lot. Nothing really mind blowing in this field. I like the co-op mode- it really provides a new dimension to the game in comparison to the other games cause you're looking out for one another constantly. Also, GREAT new character who is awesome and it's totally worth spending £40 just to listen to him- he's better thanthe Joker!

Innovation 6 /10. It's exactly like RE4! Some of the levels even look the same and those quick-time events in cutscenes are back. It was definatly built from the top down. The 'zombies' react exactly the same to bullets as from the last game, which is quite disappointing in that regard.

Sound 9/10. Some characters have really weired voices (Sheva's accent bugs me for some reason...) but overall it's VERY nice! Explosions everywhere, screaming crazy people and chainsaws ripping through necks is all awesome sound wise! (and visually as well)

Good 'ol Fun (Cause it's darn well possible that a game scores big in these other cats, but is just unenjoyable) 9/10. Right now I'm loving it. Co-op makes this game better, but even on your own it's just loads of fun to blasthordes ofTribal zombies in the face.

Graphics: 9/10

Gameplay 8/10

Originality 7.5/10

Innovation 7/10

Sound 8/10

My average score would be 8.0/10.

To explain a little further I have played all of Resident Evil games and I belong to the group that empathizes when it comes to one word: Zombies.

I want freaking Zombies in Resident Evil... ;)

RE5 Graphics are well done, Gameplay is Action Based and nothing close to what Resident Evil represents (at least not for me). Originality? Other then Wesker, Jill and Chris and one particular level of the game (5.1 chapter) nothing else felt like I was playing Resident Evil game.

Innovation - Co-op I guess, I personally believe it should had been single player experience but that's not up to me. Your female partner is double edge sword, sometimes she will help and do things well, sometimes she wil stand around with no purpose while you're in need of healing or cover fire. Later in stages you have cover system which I felt was completely out of place but it works well regardless.

Nothing major innovation here, even co-op has been done before In Resident Evil.

Sound is good apart from one major flaw that both me and my friend couldn't stand. Music... Especially in later bosses and most action sequences (which are numerous), we were hearing Star Wars all over the place...

Don't get me wrong, I'm personally Star Was veteran and I didn't really recognized the vibe, music atmosphere until my friend mention it, like I was fighting with Tie Fighter in space.. This is not the game for that kind of orchestra..

Overall, if you're looking for action 3rd person shooter - RE5 delivers.

If you're looking for Resident Evil game, this is not it. It's my opinion anyway. ^_^
