Flower, Little Big Planet, and Rock Band are the only games in my collection that don't have some kind of violence. I'm sure there are several puzzle games on PSN don't have much violence too.
LittleBigPlanet, Burnout Paradise, and Madden NFL 2010 come to mind... basically sports games are safe bets, racing games are good, and there are a few games with very nonviolent combat like Ratchet and Clank Future, or Final Fantasy XIII, if only because they really don't feature blood and the weapons/enemies are really obscure and fantasy-esque
I would say VC if you like strategy games (it has an outstanding story too), FFXIII's graphics are insane, the story isn't so bad and the battle system is great imo. If you get LBP you gotta try levels from earthmusic. And BFBC2 isn't that violent, you should just get that.
Don't forget lego rockband or the sonic's sega genesis collections. Nostalgia never fails to impress me. I finally got a chance to play and beat phantasy star 4 thanks to that collection. Phantasy Star 4 was difficult to get your hands on back in the day. I strongly recommend you play that game if you like a bit of non threatening fun. R.I.P Alys.

How can you say Uncharted 1 & 2 are not that violent? All your doing is shooting enemies in the head, and limbs :P. Well, compared to God of War III or Prototype, I don't think they're that violent... :D

We laugh at each other, slap each other off ledges, help each other once in a while. The game just oozes charm. It totally appeals to EVERY age group. I think the whole concept of the game and the genre it has spawed is the highlight of this generation of games.

The same can be said for the R&C games. I friend of my mine plays nothing but Gears Of War (360 boy) and now he loves R&C. Who doesn't?

He doesn't like FF or R&C. He thinks that the story and gameplay sucks. I know this for a fact, and he's crazy!
