What's so good about the SLIM PSP?!

I hear about all this stuff like Skype, RSS Feeds, etc. GPS, Cameras. What is the difference between the SLIM and the ORIGINAL? I ask only because I intend to buy one, but I want to know if it is worth it to buy a SLIM, or just get a refurb from GameStop.

You forgot no flying UMD's, with the slim PSP you will not randomly kill a loved one with spring loaded airborn razor sharp games/movies. I'll probably get crazy flamage for saying this but the original PSP was a piece of junk, it looked great on the coffe table but yeesh. Since the harware redesign, it's acually a nice, well built little unit with more features than you can shake a stick at. Don't get a refurbished PSP Phat, the price has come down significantly and the core pack is only like $179.99 (CDN), I dont know what EB/Gamestop will charge you for a "refurbished" unit but I'll bet it's a least triple what it's worth and twenty times more that they gave some poor kid for it in the firstplace.

However, the battery life on the Slim with the standard battery fares slightly worse v. the 1001 PSP did with its standard battery.

Faster loading is debatable? I've got a bunch of games that prove that wrong. Slim = faster.ItsEvolution

64MB of internal memory is nice, but when you can bump up the processor to 300mhz or higher, the extra memory's just whipped cream on pancakes. Hence the reason why Sony themselves unlocked the processor cap.

Anyhoo, overall, yes, the Slim is much better at loading times.
