I believe it has been over-hyped a little... I stress "a little". 1- May has been very dry on good games. 2- PS3 exclusive, fan boy's heaven. 3- Lightning effects are awesome. 4- open world 5- lots of destructibles. And there you go :)
because people are looking forward to the game. It obviously interests many people who own PS3's, so just because you don't find it interesting, doesn't mean it isn't to everyone. ;)

the story and soundtrack are going to be top notch. The free roam gameplay with tons of electrical powers. Amazing visuals. Ps3 exclusive. From the makers of sly cooper. So you already know its going to be an amazing game.

I'm hyped for it because open world + super powers is an instant win for me. I love most open world games, and InFamous looks like an interesting take on the genre.
I never got what was so great about KZ2, so It's all about personal preference really.

Ummmmm never seen before what about Assasins Creed, Prince of Persia, etc. etc. I mean Prototype looks alot more promising. The ability to take anyone elses abilities and disguise yourself as them. I have a feeling the powers will possibly get old if he just uses electricity. Again though I maybe wrong I was just stating about a previous post about it being original or revolutionary. Nuff Said

Sly Cooper was good, but the Jak games were way better. Jak II is one of my all-time favorite games.
I never got into Jak but I recognize it as a good platformer. I just liked Sly Cooper more, although I should try playing Jak again. The first Ratchet and Clank didn't do it for me either, so maybe I'll like the latter ones in the series. though, I'd honestly rather they make a new Jak for the PS3 so I could play that.
EDIT: @above Uncharted was made by naughty dog and inFamous is being made by Sucker Punch, both developers have a good reputation for making great games. If you pay attention to the developers making games it will ussually give you a good idea about the quality of an upcoming game.

read through the thread again... i never once used the term 'over-hyped'...how can i when i have'nt played or know that much about the game, and i have only watched a demo....which is what all the people 'HYPING' it have also done...which is why am asking...whats so sepcial about it.... people do seem to get excicted easily dont they...

The running animations don't look like Niko's at all and so what if they did, human's generally run in a similar way.
I'm interested in this game and I'm 20 and what so immature about electrical powers?
OMG it's a video game you have to control it some how, do you expect someone to use real electricity to power train thats in the video game?

People are hyped about the game b/c it's a great adventure game. And during a time when most of the good games are shooters, it's good to get something 'different' of such high quality. Just like people were hyped for Assassin's Creed or Uncharted. Really... for fans of adventure games, what's NOT to be excited about???

The train has innocent people on it, and the objective of the mission is to get the train to a safe place. Problem is, the enemies have disconnected the power to the train, so you have to "recharge" the power using your abilities...while at the same time fight enemies trying to stop you from doing so. Don't judge the game based on videos, as they don't always tell the full story. After playing the demo, I'll be buying the game on day one, and I'm not a teenager.
