I'm not entirely sure yet to be honest. I'm not really looking forward to it, there's many other games I'd rather see in the shops before this one.

The ability to create a creature or organism and watch it grow and evolve in a customised world I'd guess would be the main attraction, but I'm not overly fond of the idea and think it will get rather boring rather quickly.

I'd like to know why people are looking forward to this game so much as well.

I'm looking forward to creating my own levels and sharing them with my friends. Personally it's the feature I'm most excited about.donnygorgas

no one is forcing you to get excited for a game,

I'm excited for it because it seems like it's the youtube of video games. I mean think of all the levels you could play, dozens of people will make something really cool out of this game.

Ive heard people can charge for their created maps. If so, that will take a lot of the hype out of this game for me.

its just a dumbed down kittys version of garys mod on CSS. everything LBP is offering you could do and then some on garys mod. the problem is garys mod had a big learning curve and also making maps on CSS took some learning as well. LBP is just bringing it all in a simplified version...but they are screaming "inovation" which is what is so off putting to me. if it wasn't for that i wouldn't even bring up garys mod.

plus the biggest unappealing thing to me about this game is the fact that its going to be on "regulated" servers and if you violate the rules at all you chances having your ps3 black listed. having no rules is what made garys mod so fun, you could create all kinds of fun things with no worrys. having to check your game manuel before you upload a map isn't my idea of fun or "inovative"

My god...as soon as one topic on "LBP not revolutionary" or "Why does everyone like LBP" dies another one just spawns, its like an endless wave of zombies and idiots. People like it because they do! Get it through your thick skulls people. I am getting sick and tired about re-writing what I type almost everytime one of these stupid a$$ threads. Its like asking someone or a group of people why they like fps because you think they are boring, maybe those people/person likes fps. Its just to prevent things from going the spore way with all the orn, plus, thats only if you publish the game so everyobe to see it, you can still make your porn level and enjoy it with friends, you creepy bastard.

Other than that and maybe swearing, there really isnt much that could be made that would have to be banned.

i think it all started because people have been hyping the game for months and months. i think overall people are starting to get fed up with people hyping games. infact i start to wonder who is actually doing the hyping. at any rate, for every thread hyping new and inovative games, if they can't back it up you need to expect another thread setting the record striaght. getting upset, sick, tired, over things like that...is purhaps the same thing others are going through after buying overhyped games...except were out money as well.machiavell8x8

If you follow the hype train than its your own damn fault, if you apparently say that you ignore the hype than why care what other people hype? I buy games because I want that game. Simple as that. So do most people. Creating a topic about how annoying other people are by hyping so-and-so game just shows that you actually care what they think. alot of people buy games because they get hyped into it...thats how alot of people figuer out what games to get....its the way its always been. like i said the only thing that annoys me is the overhyping and the exagerations/untrue things that accompany it.

and i didn't create this topic by the way. sure its mostly opinions but alot of people don't really know what they are talking about and as such end up talking other people who don't know much into getting a game.

in all honesty i recall alot more hype threads than bash threads for this game...so maybe its about time people get set striaght with reality and not all the fantasy the people spew into our dreams to make us buy a game that was invented when hl2 was released.

the video's (developer interviews) ive already mentioned. im sure its where the hype started from because in most of the threads hyping the game i usually see or hear reference to them. and i think ive already addressed that....and i know what innovative means as well...altho I must admit it took me a few reads to understand your sentence....but yah ive already addressed that but I guess I can state it again, "ive yet to read anything innovative about this game that i havn't seen in previous games" so when they offer something new, that hasn't been thought up/released on a previous system about 6 years ago...I might turn into a hyper.

The game might turn out to be fun, but i really don't see anything deserving hyped "innovation". Now i would consider spore innovative in the sense of the game idea in general, and the possible interactivity with other users and the game world based on how they build their characters.....thats a genuine innovative idea.

so before you respond again, please thing about providing something to the discussion and not attacking users verbally...as that serves no point other than trolling for w/e various reasons you may have.

people...friends...reviewers...not much difference here...its all opinions and clearly people pull info from reviewers so them 2 could easily be grouped together as the same. and friends well...im sure we can all see how they could be people as well, altho ill give that one to you since people might hold friends to a somewhat higher standard....the same used to be said for reviewers but thats clearly not the case anymore. but your saying people don't buy games because of there friends now either...which is very very false it happens...i know it happens...we all know it happens.

my point is games get hyped, and people are influenced by this and if anyone denies this then clearly you don't know how the world works. companys pay big bucks to hype there products, and then conveniently people obsorb this and go around hyping it as well. you can call the people that are influenced whatever names you want, but we are all influenced in some way by it...and in more ways than meets the eye. and yes were all aware people like certain series, nor do I denie people find out how good games are by actually playing them....im well aware while i play games if i like them or not, and i know others are as well. what im talking about is prerelease, or preplay-in other words before you have had a chance to play it yourself. i get what your saying about knowing what titles you plan to buy...i do, i just don't think your getting me about the hype part, lots of people especially on these boards are getting hyped into getting games just by word of mouth and constint "free hype advertizement", being bombarded by fancy words and screenshots giving people a vision of what a game is going to be like.....but as we all know when we finally play that game its never how we quite expected it...thats what im talking about overhyped.

to say you've never been hyped into a game is like saying you've never bought a game that you later regreted...because if you liked it you would have never bought it unless of course like i stated before you buy it just for the title which i think you just hinted at. I do that too by the way, i just bought msg4 because i just knew it would be good. but i also know that LBP is being overhyped and i really feel alot of people are going to be disapointed, now why would they be disapointed about a game if they bought it because they liked it or because of the title, while this is also a first title in the series? hype and broken promises

there we go the first real answer, and thats one of the reasons why you see threads asking why the game is being hyped...its been done before, we've seen it before. its not innovative in the gaming world, but thats always the feeling i get when i read threads on the game....if i myself go out and buy that game when it releases im going to be sitting there thinking yep seen that before...yep that too....thats not innovation its hype.
