hey can they make the psp stronger or something through firmware or somethingoldskool-gamer

There should be a new firmware upgrade soon, it has been ages since the last big release :)

Ah yea you cant play GTA and other new titles on 1.5 PSP's but you can upgrade up to 2.0 and downgrade back again :)

Any firware above 2.0 wont let you downgrade and has strick protection.

I feel sorry for anyone who didnt know the the PSP was capable of doin all this extra non sony stuff!

I reckon people should stick to 1.5 firmware. The homebrew scence is damn good (Quake 2 port beta 2 out!), nuthing beats being able to play all GBA SNES MAME ect Roms on your PSP. There are also loads of great homebrew applications for 1.5 and 1.0 psp's.

I really feel sorry for anyone who upgraded above 2.0 because, there is a slim chance you will be able to ever properly use any of these on your psp.

Ah yea there are programs that allow you to overclock your psp already, 4 1.5 and 1.0 firmware.

Time to get back to playin Quake on my PSP :)

Sorry to burst your bubble, but versions 2.00, 2.5, 2.6 have been hacked. Just recently they have developed a beta EBOOT loader which once they fix and polish up, will have the ability to play everything you just mentioned here.

that's good news since i made the mistake of upgraded to 2.6

As for the next firmware:

For Networking:
I would love to have RSS news feeds and RSS video channels (aka podcasts), instead of just RSS audio channels. And maybe if you had a microphone/headset, have some sort of infrastructure method to chat with other psp users (like audio/video conversations on chat programs like msn messenger)

For Video:
More different video and audio codecs it can play (like DivX/Xvid formats), and increased audio on videos (like how you can increase audio levels (+1/+2) in UMD movies)

For Music:
Ability to have music playing while surfing the internet or looking at photos (E-magazines)

Overall:
The ability to have a more flexible file structure instead of having to put everything in the (for example) PHOTO folder and only being able to put files only one folder deep, or having video files play no matter the naming structure, or being able to sort my music in multi-nested folders

i want 3gp compatability so that i will not need to convert it anymore
