When is update 2.4 going live??

I heard it was going to be today but I guess I was wrong. So when is it going to go up?

This update never had a confirm date and the contents are not confirmed either. So far there are rumors on the features and release of this update. We just have to wait.DJCUEBALL

Nobody knows. Everything up to this point is rumors and speculation. It could be tonight, tomorrow, next week or any other time for all we know.

Well, he said the day that variety is a bad thing he would stop. We still get variety. Games as Patapon and such are still being released so He can continue playing :P We forgive ya :P

I have a theory that it is coming out at or just before MGS4. IGN has a review up on the game, and you can listen to music saved on your hard drive in the game, which is a feature of the 2.4 update. I'm assuming that they need to have this update to have the ability in Metal Gear, so if I'm right, I hope I am - then we'll see it tomorrow, if not it may be housed on the disk for the game.

Then again, it could be another month away with how little real information Sony provides before firmware updates.

That feature is because Snake has an iPod and he uses the music on your Hard Drive as the iPod.

Yeah, I know Snake has an Ipod, but how does that mean that the firmware update isn't needed? Also, it's not similar to how Psycho Mantis reads the memory card, maybe in theory but not in function.

Sony has confirmed that there will be no update today...but they also confirmed 2.40 and everything rumored is true.

They said that before the FW is released they will post a walkthrough like they do with every other system FW update.

We normally report good news, but its unfortunate that right now I am here to report BAD news.

I have just received word that the elusive, and anticipated firmware update 2.40 for the PlayStation 3 console, will NOT be available for update tomorrow.

I was also told its TRUE that the debug version did have some bugs. Exactly what bugs they are encountering is still unknown.

Rest assured that FW 2.40 is INDEED on its way and all the features we have leaked will be IN the update.

OMG, it's a Trophy! I wonder what the 3D version looks like...

I never fell for that its coming on Tuesday. I'm going to just wait, It doesnt bother me. First of all the update is not necessary for this. Super Stardust has ingame music and another game has it too. This is actually what we are going to have to settle for until sony finds a loop hole in the microsoft patent on in game music and custom playlists. Right now it is up to the game maker to put it in their specific game or not.
