When will the PS3 shine?

when do u guys think the ps3 will b the best console? i think when its 2008....so many great games are coming out and the 360 needs to catch up. i admit, the 360 won this year (only because they were out for 2 years, ps3 only 1 year) but wait and see 2008. any1 who is thinking of either to buy a 360 or ps3, go with the ps3 if u want the best console from 2008 to forever. the 360 is good now, just watch microsoft go down little by little. tom clancys endwar, metal gear solid 4 will b big hits just for 2008 for the ps3, but there r plenty that r gonna come out. CANT W8! seriously cant w8 till 2009, God of War 3!!! but anyway, wen do u think the ps3 will b over the top, and why......

Once I feel I have cannot live without one and it makes me go out and purchase the console. Right now it looks like PS3 is putting out some games but I feel it will shine in 2009 and 2010. UTIII should be a really good reason to have a PS3 in a few days, can someone let me know what is a great game on PS3 right now that is not multiplatform because there is a bundle at costco with Ratched & Clank but I am not a little kid and Uncharted looks great but feel I can pass on it right now. Or am I wrong is Uncharted pure bliss.Sherjas24

I have both Ratchet and Uncharted. Both of them are pure bliss to me.

I never understand why people have that hole in their ego where their console "HAS TO BE THE BEST".

Why can't you just get over it and just enjoy whatever console you have? Both 360 and PS3 are great and will be around for at least the next 4-6 years. Both consoles will get amazing games that are sure to make us gamers happy and occupy too much of our time.

Suck it up...all of the consoles are amazing right now.

Definitely 2008. It has had trouble with the price and lack of games, but the price is now reasonable and it's starting to get good games. Q3-Q4 will be the time everyone wants a PS3.

Yes we have had our highlights and triumphs, but I think shining is when the entire world see's how much better it is, and i think the next 2 years for the PS3 is going to bring us much closer to *shining* =]

Maybe when people have the immense amount of money to spend on a PS3 project due to its insanely long development time to create a game for its artitetchure. Did you know, this is just an estimation but it isn't far fetched, that to FULLY utilize the PS3's hardware and software (25gb Disks) it would take nearly as much money it takes to make a MMORPG to create a game of that magnitude. In other words, even if every PS3 owner bought a game (Considering theres only a small margin of PS3 owners) the creators would never profit.

That and the Reality Snythesizer just.. seems to create jagged edges everywhere.

Personally.. I think they should've gone with a more simple layout for their games (So you know, we wouldn't have to spend all of America's money to develop a damn game that utilizes its hardware to the fullest) with more video memory and kept Blu-Ray for its resolution. Then maybe they'd shine.

Ill bet my life on that. Thats about the right way to put it. It could be 12 months. And im sure its gonna be much better after 08. But as good as God of War 3 may be, or MGS4, or whatever. They wont be true Cell games. But we could see one in the next 24 months. Although im sure Killzone is pushing that thing some. But still not full go.

The PS3 already shines when it comes to hardware. But when it comes to the bets game it will never beat the 360. The 360 just has too many great exclusives, from Dead Rising to Mass Effect. And even if the PS3 gets twice the amount of exclusives in 2008 then the 360 stil has more of them. Both consoles shine for the exclusives that they have.
