Where are the new avatars?

I thought Sony said new avatars will be arriving with the new 3.00 update....whats up with this?

Sony said that the firmware would ENABLE new avatars, and that they would come down the road at a later time along with the dynamic themes. There was never a real date any new ones would be released, so it's just a wait for them game. Not a real big deal imo, but they'll be out soon enough I suppose. And to much debate over how crumby they are as well ( I bet ) as it really seems to take ALOT to keep some people satisfied.

Mmm hmm, they added a small amount in early 2007 and that's about it. I don't usually complain, but it really isn't hard to get out more avatars...

2 weeks (since 3.00) compared to 2 years is nothing. If everyone has waited that long (as have I), then a few more weeks, or months isn't going to kill anyone. In the meantime, why not focus on the great games coming out over these next few months. After you play through Uncharted 2, Borderlands, or whatever you might be waiting for, the new avatars will probably be out. Personally, that is when I see the new avatars coming out anyways, with the release of hte newer upcoming, big name titles.

I'm all for seeing new avatars guys, I just thing there are much bigger things in life to get that driven about.

I think the main reason is probably because of licensing issues. People sue over everything in the united states and sony is prolly trying to secure all the rights to use characters made by other 3rd party companies.

Characters from LBP, infamous, Resistance 2, Uncharted 2, KZ2 (besidies that one helghast)

I find some of the responses to you absurd. Some actually attack you for voicing your displeasure with Sony's inability to upload some freakin' pictures to the PSN.

FACT: Sony has been painfully slow in getting new avatars to people. As Duckman said, how hard is it to upload some picutres? It's just them ignoring people, once again, for something that would take them but a second, AND would net them some cash, AND would make millions of people happy.

People say to focus on games instead of avatars, but that's just a cop-out excuse. Yes, obviously it's the games that matter, and, truly, avatars mean little in the big picture, but that's not the point.

People have been asking for years. Not days. Not weeks. YEARS. It's time for Sony to put some up already.

Nobody should defend Sony on this.

which irritates me to no end, the suing's gotten ridiculous.

And Sony needs to just enable custom avatars.
