Where is Kingdom Hearts III?

After FF 13/14/VS are released, i think we'll see a Kingdom Hearts 3 reveal, so sit tight.

The number of PS2's that were sold is part of my argument for keeping it on PlayStation. Obviously PS2 and PS3 aren't the same system, but a majority of the PS3 install base are/were PS2 owners so there is a greater chance that they would have played the first 2 KH games than Wii owners or XBOX 360 owners. I don't doubt that a large number of former PS2 owners went over to XBOX or Wii due how much PS3 costs or the fact that it was released a year after 360 or whatever other reasons they may have had, but it doesn't make up a majority of the install base for either console like it does PS3. A majority of 360 owners were most likely XBOX owners before, and the Wii has been more pushed for the family gaming experience so a large number of consoles were sold for that purpose.

How do you know that the percentage of PS3 owners that were PS2 owners is any higher than with the other systems? I've never seen any numbers on the subject. But what I do know is that nearly all of the 360 owners I've met in RL said they owned a PS2 when I asked.

And as for the Wii... well it does target the "casual" market. Just as the PS2 did primary before it. Again I don't have any numbers, but just from the basic sales numbers and types of games released the PS3 doesn't seem to cater much to this aspect of its predecessor. So the question becomes who was mainly buying the KH games, and which console has the most of them? Only a market researcher would know the answer.

I found an interview from April with the SCEA Director of Hardware Marketing stating that almost 80% of PS3 owners own(ed) a PS2. I haven't been able to find what the numbers would be on 360, but even if it was just as high, there's no real way to know who was specifically buying KH games, whether it be the PS3 owners or the 360 owners.

No, but Square Enix can get a good idea of how many people might buy a game like KH on a particular system by comparing existing sales of similar titles as well as random surveys and things of that nature.

That would be the closest possible answer and in the end that data is probably what they will base their decision on. It's still only going to show similar games though and not specifically KH games, minus random surveys that would show if someone purchased a KH game or not, but the problems with surveys is that it's only a small sample and to make substantial claims from that little bit of imformation is hard. For games sales it would provide a much larger sample, but again, it's still not showing KH games specifically.

Well the new KH for 3DS takes place after 2 so that might be the closest thing to KH3. If KH3 won't come out until vs xiii is released than have fun waiting. SE seems to come up with some of the wierdest excuses not to work on vs. Vs XIII is just like Half Life 3, the only differnce is we can actually see footage of Vs.

I used to care about KH but now that you need like 20 different consoles in order to play all of the related games i kind of lost interest. Also, no English Final Mix. Boooooooo.

I never played the other KH games I only played 1 and 2 and I get that story perfectly fine idc about the other games to me they are just spin offs I just want a KH3 to end it all..... Just like I'm waiting for a Jak 4.

Yep This is one game that I have been waiting for on PS3. I originally bought PS3 for God of War 3, Twisted Metal and Kingdom Hearts 3.

The PS3 is 5years + into it's lifespan Kingdom Hearts 3 should be Coming soon? Square Enix and Disney Now would be a good time for Kingdom Hearts 3.

I have a feeling Kingdom Hearts 3 might just come out when the PS4 does as one of those must have exclusives that make people want to buy the console faster.

That makes sense and considering now with games being so popular I doesn't surprise me that each company will now want established franchises at launch as compared to last gen where launch games were either new or not so much estalished franchises. So by having the ps4 launch with big titles like Jak 4, Kingdom Hearts 3, Metal Gear Solid 5, its going to want to make people want a ps4 and if the 720 launch the same year Sony would want to let people know when buying a ps4 you will be happy since your getting sequels to games series you already like. Just like with the 720 microsoft will probably have to do Halo 5 and Gears of War 4 since they barly have any exclusives.
